hello ladies, thanks for assistance on the deerskin bag. It does look authentic but it bothers me that people are not familiar with the style. I will give it consideration as I do love it.

Could you look at thsi one too please? I think I am getting good at this and it does look good to me but I am not an expert. There is no year on the tag, does anybody recall which year this was also??TIA

Just my amateur opinion, but I don't think that could be repaired--a layer of the leather is wearing off. This is one of the older vintage BV's so if it hasn't been carefully stored in it's own bag or if it's been used a lot, it eventually wears. The price paid is very fair for the age and fairly good used condition of the bag. For a vintage bag this age in mint condition you would have to pay quite a bit more.

Maybe others here could offer opinions on any possible repair or improvement to the worn area on the leather.

This looks authentic to me. I've seen this style and like it. I'd estimate it's from the early-middle 2000's. Others will probably be able to pinpoint the age better for you.

BV has changed their unique details over time so there's no one rule to separate real from fake. Since fakers read these threads for hints, we try not to reveal too much.

We will need some additional photos. A clear, readable photo of the plaque and also readable photos of both sides of the authenticity tag. It may be a bit hard to do with the location of the tag, but it's important. Having said that, so far I see no warning signs on this bag.

This is the answer I received on my request for additional photos:

“Alina,
The number plate is A425 of 500. I'm traveling on business till tuesday next week and won't be able to get any additional pictures as my wife is traumatized by this experience as it is.”

Should I bid on it anyways and post additional photos when I receive it? If I use PayPal, and am protected against fakes…. What would you advise?

I personally wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole! You don't sell a 5K bag with a stock picture while out of town. JMHO :police:
