Ink Belly Veneta continued.

I don't have a Belly Veneta, but the details all look ok to me. I know others will also offer opinions. I think I recall seeing some BV's with inside pockets that had some fabric rather than all suede, but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone will have more knowledge to share.

I have ordered BV items (bags and SLGs) from Bluefly, and they have all been genuine.

Comments:
I bought this bag from Bluefly and I am having doubts since I saw someone else's post about BF selling fake Gucci & Bal bags. Everything seems okay except for the lining of the zipped compartment inside - it's a type of canvas that is very rough and seems similar to polyester. I compared it to my other BV bags which were both purchased at boutiques but both of those bags had different inner linings. I am uploading my pictures in sets of five. Hopefully someone can help me authenticate this! Thanks in advance.

I cannot address the lining since it is something that I would have to see IRL. My lining is not rough. IMO, everything about your bag which you have shown in pictures indicates to me that it is authentic.

Hi, I had a late night last night so wasn't able to upload photos of the bag until now. I will upload in batches of five. It looks fine but it's the way that the leather feels that concerns me. It feels very different from my other Bottega Bag. This one feels very spongey and rubbery (I can even stretch the leather when I pull it).

I would greatly appreciate your help to determine it's authenticity! Thank you in advance.

It look authentic to me. The reason that the leather seems "spongy" (I call it meaty) is that it is cervo (deer) rather than nappa (lamb). I think that you got a fabulous deal. Enjoy your crocker!

Glad you asked about this one - in my opinion, it's fake!

Help!! I foolishly bid on this and won it before coming here to check. The seller is being very good about it and is willing to accept a return if I post my own pictures here and you still feel it is not authentic. I have never owned a Bottega Veneta before, so it is hard for me to know. The leather is really nice, but there is no authenticity tag. Thoughts?!!?!

IMO, this is not an authentic BV.

boxermom & Baggiana - Thank you both for responding so quickly! The inner lining in my Montaigne is also not suede but I've had the bag since 2008 so I wasn't sure if the cloth softened over time. I know that the mirror that came with my Montaigne has suffered a lot of wear and tear around the edges even though I never use it.

Your responses definitely make me feel a lot more relieved though... thanks again!

elliesaurus, two of my venetas have what feels like canvas zippered compartments. It does feel rough compared to the suede lining. Also, it's worth noting that the inside zippers on some of the newer bags are not stamped riri though it looks like the outside zipper which is a riri.

Hi, although it's hard to read the Bottega Veneta imprint, I don't see any warning signs and this looks authentic to me. Maybe you aren't used to the BV deerskin leather? It is very spongy and meaty! :graucho:

Hopefully, all of the authenticators will give their opinions so you feel better about your purchase.

hanana - I agree with MFB, I do not see any warning signs. The spongy thick supple feel of the deerskin used by BV is why I like their deerskin bags!

bagpie - In my opinion, this picture is not of an authentic bag:
