Dear lovely and knowing BV ladies,

I stumpled upon this:

Item Name: Bottega Veneta medium Campana in Nero (i think)
Listing number: 140440957046
Seller name or ID: girlsngear
Working Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLACK-WOVEN-L...-HOBO-USED-ONCE-/140440957046?pt=Women_s_Bags
Comments: I know there are probably not enough pics, I already requested more but haven't heard back from the seller yet. Just wondering if it is possible at all to say something about the bag? I also don't know if the price is reasonable and for how much this style usually sells… The seller has 100% positive feedback.

Thanks so much! :smile1:

Hi, this is one of those bags that is heavily replicated. I don't have the best feeling about this one and would need to see a closeup of the Bottega Veneta imprint and a closer shot of the front and back of the white authenticity tag that's pictured.

Maybe the seller would add the pictures to the auction! :smile1:

Let's wait for more pics from the seller... but I can't help but echo Miss_FancyBags on not having the best feeling about this one.

Sorry to vent here a little but this thread is frustrating to me. We have rules for requesting authentications, that are not being followed. In fact, the mention of using the proper format and where to find it is even in the title of this very thread.

The people that authenticate are volunteering their own valuable time to help people, they don't even know. Please give them what is needed. All of this can be found in the first post of the thread. Please take a minute to read this. You owe it to the tireless people who give of their time and knowledge to help you to at least do the minimum and respect the rules.

My advice to authenticators is to ignore any requests from posters who have themself ignored the rules/guidelines.

To recap:
Post in proper format
Do not post obvious fakes (i.e. a $50 Campana)
Post a request only if the picture requirements are met
The spirit of the thread is to help shoppers

Gosh, I hope I don't have to write a post like this ever again.

:shame: I'm really sorry; I guess this was addressed to me. I promise not to ask anything again unless I have all the pictures required at hand. I'm new to BV so I couldn't decipher whether a listing is an obvious fake or not. Sorry again. :oh:

Don't feel that you were targeted! You explained that you know you don't have all the requested photos, that the seller has not replied, and you simply were hoping for an opinion.

I believe our wonderful, hard-working BV moderator addressed her comments to the many other posters who ignore the title of this thread. You didn't do that.

She's right that it can be time-consuming and anything we can all do to make it easier and faster would be much appreciated.

Jenny, it takes way more than one instance to prompt me to write that biotchy post. This has been happening for a lot longer, and with greater frequency. If you go back and read several pages of this thread you will see this. And BTW, I don't expect you or anyone to do that, that is my job. You used the proper format and that is half the battle, so thank you.

If you ever see a BV bag for less than 75-100 dollars as a Buy it Now, you can be 98% sure it is fake. Someone here once said if you pay peanuts, you get monkey.

Comment: Should I ask the seller for more pictures?

TIA :smile1:

Hi, yes - more pictures would be appreciated and of a better quality (see post 2315 above). We'd like pictures of the metal plate that says "Bottega Veneta", the zipper pull hardware and what looks to be a branded metal piece that connects the shoulder strap to the bag in picture 3. Maybe if the seller takes the pictures without a flash, we'd see more details without glare. :smile1:

P.S. You noted the condition, right?

Yes, I'm thinking if the price remains low I could invest in some repaire;).
I've requested more pictures from the seller, sorry about that!
