Pics aren't great, but I will say it definitely looks as if it's been recolored at some point

I'm not convinced the pics are good enough to prove it conclusively but I trust your judgement.

I'm with you on the dying job.
The handles look really off to me. No matter how warm the lighting may have been, they look just flat. Even the lacing looks wrong and plasticky.
Two pics of my Teals with varying degrees of warmth when I took the pics.

Also, the corners of the bag in question look white-ish, like the paint is coming off. I personally would keep my hands off this bag. But that's just mho.
