I see your point exactly! As I own several Bal range from 2006 to 2014, from leather quality and the make I cannot feel this is fake:( it is as super shiny as my tournesole from 2013, as smooth as my envelope. Leather is slouchy in a natural way, feeling even better than my 2013 city (which is a bit dry...). I have contacted the seller, obtained her receipt, and the receipt points to the Bal outlet store in Italy, with original price of 700 euros. (Also stated no return or refund for outlet items). Therefore hard for me to believe it would be fake:( I guess I am calling the outlet store to consult their tags...

Sorry - I don't usually pop in and i'm not saying that the bag is real b/c I'm not in love with a few details either and I'm definitely NOT an expert with the newer bags!! I agree that it looks like Cassis from the pics :)

With that being said...couldn't a possible argument be made for the many outlet bags / items have been sent to the outlets because something is "off" or wrong with them and they know they won't get full price in a boutique? So wouldn't there be a few bags that do have a few 'defects' per say? Like if someone made a mistake in the heat stamp and put the accent in the wrong place but didn't want to scrap an entire lot of what had already been stamped? The people in charge of the bottom line would rather get something for their mistake than lose all of it. So send them on down to the outlet stores and so on. They have made there way into TJMaxx, Marshalls, Off5th, Neimans Outlets, Ross and so on...and the Bal Outlets, of course. I've sifted through hundreds of these bags and they all seem to have issues...especially in the later years and each one was there for an obvious and different reason or mistake. I don't know, just a thought.

Yes, I'd call the boutique in the morning and see if the receipts match up, but I tell you...there are some insane superfakes and there are some very lousy authentic bags out there!! I don't think you'd want either one if i'm being honest so best to get your money back! Good luck! :flowers:

I agree on this one. I think the color is also off. Is it supposed to be Rouge Cerise? It honestly looks like my Cassis.

The bag sold though :( not aware if the winner is aware that it is a fake....regarding the color seller claimed it was re dyed. She doesnt know the official color too, told me it was like a mix of gray and purple. I think it could be Jacinthe... im still searching for my bal city and ptime hence by summer my job would require me more bag space, but if I can't find one might just head out to Bal store and get the city and save up again for ptime.

Sorry I was referring to another bag. I quoted yours by mistake. However, yours is an obvious fake. Everything is wrong about that listing.

Hello, im sorry to say that im not able to authenticate this bag. After comparing your tag with another "H" tag ME, there are just some inconsistency which i just can't bring myself to "pass" it. I may be super "sensitive" especially it concern other's hard earned money. It may be insignificant, but i need to be 100% sure that you get an authentic bag.

Sorry that i can't help you this time

I pulled the trigger on a 2014 Black Metallic Edge City from TheRealReal. They claim to verify authenticity on every bag they sell but I wanted to double-check with the Bal experts as this is the biggest bag purchase I have ever made. The leather is shiny and feels grainy to the touch. It slouches when put down. The tassels feels a lot crisper/stiffer than my 2005 Chevre bag. The mirror doesn't bend.

Item Name: BALENCIAGA MOTOCROSS CLASSIC METALLIC EDGE CITY BAG
Item Number: AL31084
Seller ID: TheRealReal

Question: Could you confirm that 2014 S/S ( H tag) was the first release of the ME city?

Hi, I want to precede my comment by clearly saying that I am not an authenticator, so I am not at liberty to say whether your bag is real or fake. BUT, I have a black chevre ME bag from f/w 2014, purchased in person directly from the Bal boutique, and everything about yours is exactly the same as mine, except for the obvious season indicator and that yours has different zippers, which is 100% consistent with the year/season of your bag versus the year/season of mine. One of the very first things I noticed when I got my bag was how really cheap and not at all neat and elegant the stamp on the front of the tag is, especially for such a pricey bag. This is my opinion only, not a statement of real/fake: if this was my bag, I would not be concerned.

(HI PEACEBABE )

Thank you, s.tighe for your comment. That makes me feel a lot better as I really love the look of this bag. I feel a little idiotic that I didn't notice the subpar stamping myself (blinded by desire, I think :-) )

I've submitted photos to Authenticate4U upon the recommendation of another tPFer to see what they think. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad you feel a little better. Somewhere on tpf there is a thread for ME bags (I can't remember if it's in the clubhouse or reference section), I will try to post some photos of mine there for you to see and I'll pm you the link so as not to clutter up the authenticate thread.

Hello s.tighe !!!

So glad to see you here & hearing your input.

Well, i hope im not just being over "sensitive". I was not able to authenticate the ME as i was comparing the tag of another ME of the same season, and also another same season tag.

Compare my attached photos to dignatius's. Im just gonna point out 1 differences. Just look at the "H" (which decode the season S/S2014). That was one of the off to me. Hope you can spot others too.

I struggled a while before suggesting dignatius to go for paid service.

This is most interesting, and I see your point and think it's so wise of you to recommend the cautious route. It's curious... I have a s/s 2014 black mggh hip with an H in the same font as dignatius' bag.... Is it possible because it was a transitional year they had two stamps? (I tried to upload the H tag photo... Will try again later).

Surprisingly, a 2014 mGGH black city that I got from ****** also has the H similar to dignatius's. I sold the bag to Fashionphile and no longer have it. When I bought it I did authenticate it here.
