Thank you so much for letting me know atlantis1982!! I appreciate your help and lending your expertise tremendously. Obviously, I feel profoundly disheartened and really upset to hear this especially since I have already paid for the bag and the import fees (Vestiare now requires you to pay them before they ship it to you) and cannot imagine having to pay to mail it back to France...uughhh!!! :'( I truly do not know what to do now. ;-((

Here is a thread on others that have had experience with Vestaire; some who have gotten fakes, too. I hope this helps you to get your $$ back. http://forum.purseblog.com/general-shopping/vestiaire-collective-experiences-771028-56.html

Can you not argue the case that, since they claim to have in-house inspectors who vet everything for authenticity, they should cover all costs if you produce an expert report that it's counterfeit? Their website states clearly that they check carefully for fakes. IMO you should be quite proactive in getting all of your costs back once you have a written confirmation that the bag is a fake.

Thank you, authenticators, for taking a look at my "new" purchase. It is from a Beverly Hills Consignment store, so sorry no web links.

Hardware, including the bales is fine. Just post this same link along with the tag pics when you get them.

Thanks once more!

I received the additional pics and would very much appreciate if someone could have a look at them (as the auction ends in about 10 hrs). Many thanks in advance.

I spotted and purchased immediately at about 4 AM E.S.T what i am fervently hoping and praying is an authentic 2004 or 2003 Red PH First bag, but it seems almost "too good to be true" since it is purported to be in like new condition, so I am justifiably feeling very apprehensive and anxious that it may be counterfeit. :-* The color appears to be that of 2003 Red, but the alleged receipt that comes with the bag is dated 2004. I purchased it from Vestiare Collective from a reputable seller named Sophie with a "trusted profile" and already paid the duty/import fees too in advance, and in the comments section, there is someone alleging that they believe it is fake and why they think so.

Anyways, my only area of expertise in authenticating Balenciaga bags are those with G21 hardware from 2007 --2011. I have no experience whatsoever in buying Bal oldies, and this would be my first, so I truly have no idea if I have just been duped or whether I have serendipitously stumbled upon an exceedingly rare jewel, and I would be deeply grateful for any help in authenticating you can provide. Obviously, adequate pictures have not been provided, but I am hoping and praying that with your expertise,Bal intuition, considerable experience, and well-honed authenticating instincts, that you might be able to infer anyways the bag's authenticity or lack thereof from the pictures that are included. Thank you so much in advance for your assistance!! ;)

According to the seller's replies to questions, the bag is "sold with the receipt, extra straps, quality control, and dust bag. Perfect condition, inside and out.the bag was purchased at the Balenciaga store in 2004 in New York (invoice provided the shop) it was brought a few hours on one occasion and perfectly preserved in its dustbag and box in the dressing room."

Even though not all the necessary pics are present I can see a few obvious red flags. I believe this is not authentic, unfortunately.

Aaarrggh! So sorry about this. Atlantis1982 is absolutely right. This is a bad counterfeit.
Contact the site immediately and tell them the bag is fake, and to refund your payment.
If you need immediate info to give them, point out that the bag is actually trying to replicate the "First," but has the model #115748 on the silver tag, which denotes the City.

Sorry, we are a little low on "girl power," lately.

I'm unable to see the back of the tag clearly enough to form an opinion. Also will need a bale photo in the correct position. Lastly, a straight on shot of a rivet might help, as I'm not comfortable with the notches I'm seeing.
