a lot of asians have faces that are more pale compared to their bodies. i do just the opposite with makeup, i tend to go with the olive/yellow shade of foundation because my face is so pale with pink undertones.

back on topic... my wardrobe consists of mostly white, cream, taupe, gray, navy, black, emerald green, plum, lavender & fushcia.

Sorry, this is not my taste. She only looks light-skinned because of the amount of makeup she is wearing. I hate when Asian girls do this. Can't change the color you are.
It's ok if it not your taste, but my face is paler than body too without make up, because I wear a lot of SPF on my face and I protect it a lot from sun (I get freckles very easily in the weirdest places like top lip and under my eyes).
I usually don't wear make up so my face is always 1 tone paler than my shoulders. Nothing I can do about it.:smile1:

I generally avoid colour, most of my clothes are white black and grey. I like red for winter, and when I get some tan in the summer I wear light yellow.

I think a pale baby blue is nice for fair skinned Asians with black / very dark brown hair.

I understand we all have some variation in coloring. I've seen some of PANda's pics and her natural skin tone is lovely. For my part, my face is darker than the rest of me because I wasn't smart enough to wear SPF when I was younger. So I definitely don't mean to rail on anyone's natural coloring here, sorry if it came across that way. But the girl in the pic has some real contrast going on and is obviously wearing a cake-layer of foundation, and it's that makeup "look" that bothers me since the girls I know who do that aren't happy with the way they are. The makeup is not my taste, that's all I was trying to say.

plain jane doe, :: snuggles:: don't worry hun, I hope no one took it offensively because yah, you were talking about how some women plaster tons of light powder on their face to make them look really fair..while the rest of their body is tan etc, lol. I've seen it, bleh!

P.S: hot pink looks good on all sorts of skin tones! ^_^, especially darker toned asians, :: nudges plain jane doe::

I also like marigold or mustard on lighter asian skin tones!

I'm about medium-pale (from Hong Kong originally) and feel like I look best in rich, jewel tones. Unlike many, I really like pale yellow - of course, maybe it looks really horrible on me and I just don't know it :p

Thanks, PANda. Hm, hot pink, I guess I shouldn't have passed up on the MBMJ sweater! I couldn't find it in person and thought it would look bad

As I've said I'm on the darker side, and for some reason the one color that totally washes me out is a darkish nudish blushy pink. It's hard to describe, and it's funny because two shades to either side looks fine.

I'm naturally lighter on face versus on my body too..and I don't like to wear foundation or anything like that..so you can tell the difference :/

Anyways I'm southeast Asian but I'm pretty fair..I have a slight pink undertone.

I love dark rich blues on me...different range of purple and pink are good too...I love light pink or pinkish nudes. The only color that I can't seem to make work is yellow...any shade of yellow.

im chinese but im pretty tan w/strong yellow undertones. with that said, i also have jet inky black hair.
i find that strong colors work great w/my skintone, like red, blue, green... however i find that all black tends not to be too flattering on me.
i think it's the combo of my black hair and tan skin... i try not to wear all black.

I am Chinese and Filipino. I stay away from yellow as I feel I have some yellow undertones if I am not tan. My face is also lighter than the rest of my body. I love purples and probably have way too much of it in my wardrobel

I am Chinese and fair complexion, not really pale. I wear most colors and I think most colors look great on fair Asian complexion except brown. I think the color brown itself is really awful, khakis are okay, just not brown. As for makeup, I love the icy blue eyeshadows, there is just something about it, I think they really complement fair Asian skin.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the late reply from me...my Mac went sickly and I had to send it in for repair. So I was without my laptop for a week....wanted to die! Anywho, got it back a couple of days ago! I'm a happy camper once again!

Thanks for all the replies and input....really appreciate it. So I went shopping and tried on a few light tan/khaki colored summer dresses...some linen, some voile. Most of my summer dresses are floral, white, and bright/saturated colors. I've seen so many girls wear linen and voile dresses in a light tan color or khaki and they look great in it. I'm a lighter Asian by the way with yellow undertones, so I depend on makeup to give me color and life so I don't look like a walking corpse. Anyways, getting back to the dresses....I cannot decide whether it's for me....can't quite put my finger on it. But when I put a bright pink or red cardi over it, that seemed to help...but I can't wear a cardi over the dress all day especially in piping hot weather. >_<
