It's actually nubuck and very high quality. You might get color transfer on it because it's fairly light colored (I wear a lot of jeans), but overall I believe it will wear better than basic suede.

Haha, my red one came today, and I think it actually looks pretty durable for suede! Guess it's pebbled nubuck...when I touched it, it does feel like there is some sort of a waterproof coating on it, so I believe it should be fine. Usually I wouldn't touch suede with a ten-feet pole (had suede hats, and found them delicate), but this one has really grabbed my attention! Of course, I usually put my bags on a rotation; only time will tell how it'll look like in 5 years!

That is another version of the feather fob. That one appears not to have the 2 hang tags and the little logo disc, but it has fringe with little studs on the ends.
It's possible that the ones in the photo ONLY come attached to certain bags, if they even make them at all.....they could be another 'runway only' item.
And it certainly sounds like they are going to have a feather fob available for purchase....but then again, that may just be a ploy to get people to go to Coach.com and look at the keychains and maybe find something else they like. We are talking about Coach after all, and after the feather fob debacle, they might be trying to stave off a feather fob debacle, part 2.
Gotcha. I've seen the "non numbered" Rhyder being referred to as the 32 (the one that's bigger than the 24 but smaller than the 33) and I was going with that.
Nope, that one is just the "rhyder satchel", the 32 would've been a smaller version of the 33. I'm still hoping they decide to produce it though.

That's one beautiful large and in charge bag! Yes, that's right, it is treated so the leather is very durable. Per Coach, all leathers used, including nubuck & suede, are treated. The only thing you need to watch out for is dirt. Coach has a new cleaner reformulated to deal with those issues. Enjoy.

I have the red nubuck 33 en route to me but it takes longer because I'm in Canada. After I ordered, I tried cancelling but I will decide when I see this in person. Now that it's appeared in O magazine - geez!
Does anybody know if it's already sold out? When I ordered last week, JAX had 22, then 20. Another TPF member in the US ordered in the evening and said JAX was down to 12. That's why I ordered - I was pretty sure the red nubuck would sell out.
The size of the Rhyder 33 is not an issue for me - I'd just carry it like a tote. (I had the colorblock Workwear Rhyder 33 for less than 24 hours which I bought with 25% off and I returned her but it wasn't due to size or weight issue). One reason why I took the plunge in the first place was to get a hold of that elusive full feather fob!!!! Whatever - I have no hope of receiving a feather fob with the red nubuck

Congratulations on going for it! The red is such a statement shade. I got the pebbled blue, also, alas, sans feather, and I don't find it too big. It makes a great daily/work bag. You will love it.
I haven't received it yet - the longer it takes, the more likely I will keep her. Another member just received her red nubuck 33 and got the elusive feather fob! Sooooo lucky! I'm not expecting to be so lucky but I can dream...

Since last Friday, the suede Rhyder 33 is on backorder, with no date for when it's available. You made a great choice! Hope you'll love it when it comes.
