Oh I would have loved to have the Infini, but that has been long discontinued, so I would definitely go with the black this time. Thank you so much for your opinion

I think the Mahina leather is very underrated. Very soft leather. I take that leather over empriente leather.
This is just my opinion, but the Artsy is still one of LV's most beautiful bags (I have two; one in DA and another in Noir). Mahina leather is so soft, but I'm not willing to pay the price LV wants for it after they've riddled it with holes.
Yes, I totally agree. It has holes AND the leather is so thin to me. I like the feel of how "hearty" the empreinte leather feels. I guess i just need to get over that I won't have the braided handle. I do have one question for you tho, I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this bag looks on, but do you find it terribly annoying how unorganized it is trying to find your things inside the bag? Thank you!
For the Artsy? Not at all since I store almost everything into a couple of pochettes and the cles can just be popped into one of the six pockets or zippered pocket.

. I use pouches too but didn't know if it bothered you because the handle is so short and the bag so big. I received the Artsy in Noir a couple days ago and every time I put it on I just LOVE how it looks. There is no doubt it is a beautiful bag. I just don't think I could justify another $1000 for the Carmel bag. This wouldn't be the first bag I bought years ago, then sold at a loss and then found myself rebuying it again years later.

I had a DA Artsy a couple of years ago and sold it shortly afterwards since the handle refused to be broken in (I know it's stiff but this one was particularly bad; enough to the point of rubbing my shoulder raw more than once) but I still missed it since it was so beautiful. I ended up purchasing the Noir and it became comfortable quickly and just repurchased the DA with a kooky date code on Monday; it's handle feels like it has already been broken in and it's a dream on the shoulder.
I really liked the Mahina leather. The bag my friend tried on felt so nice... I’m not a hobo gal so I wasn’t interested in the style but the feel of leather was dreamy.
Oh Miss Krys...I'm SO glad to hear this. I'm glad you are loving these beautiful bags now. It's an expensive lesson to learn to keep buying/selling just to repurchase again
I made up my mind....I'm keeping the Artsy in Noir and sending the bag in to "repair" to have the braided handle put on it! YAY! So excited Thanks everyone for the help!

OP, you'll be so glad! Artsy is my favorite LV bag of all of the ones I own. I have Empreinte Infini and Mono....as well as DA. I am selling the DA because I have a new Chanel arriving tomorrow and I now officially have more bags than I can use!
I was having this same debate... i just ordered the Carmel noir online! I personally was sold over the understated, smooth, lightweight leather, and all the other details. I’ve never had an issue with mahina leather being fragile so I’m sure this will be just fine. I will post pics as soon as I get it! I’m so excited!! I screamed when I purchased it but also felt nauseous lol

I’m so happy I went with the Carmel. I love the understated mahina leather! It doesn’t stick out from the body the way the artsy does, and I don’t have to worry about deodorant stains or my winter jacket being squished. It’s also much lighter than the artsy! And the perforations are microscopic, I’ve never had an issue with crumbs or dirt getting caught in these, or water. I’ll attach some mod shots
