Are there any David Yurman fans here?

Just want you all to know, that the quality of David Yurman has gone down and that they are now producing the bulk of their goods overseas. They do not have strong quality control, their manufacturers buy their own materials which allows them to hide many flaws in the diamonds and colored stones.

I suspect that there will be a continued decline in their product as they continue to only focus on the least expensive materials and manufacturing process to yield them the highest profit.

The companies only concern is their profit not their quality nor your satisfaction.

I would not recommend buying their product.
This is so TRUE. Don't fall for their scam. Besides, it looks like you're a fool if you wear it.

I really like the petite albion, petite wheaton, and the new wrap rings. I don't own any DY pieces and am thinking about getting one. Do you have one? If so, would you recommend it? Is it worth the money?

I have a number of DY pieces, including the petite Albion ring in Morganite. It is worth it only if you love the design...and the name. If not, his pieces are very overpriced for what they are. For instance, I have a ring "inspired" by a DY piece...it's a large ring with the top filled with small diamonds. I paid less for mine than the DY version, which is sterling and diamonds...mine is 18kt white gold and diamonds. So...the answer is, it depends!

I have to say, since DY opened a boutique nearby, many of his designs are really nice. There are definitely quite a few high-end pieces now (love the pave rings and certain collections including Hampton cable, petite pave and chatelaine) and not all are overpriced. I do wish some of his silver pieces with precious and/or semi-precious stones were white gold instead, but I think that is to hit a lower price point - not cheap by any means, but still still less, and it's a tactic that a number of designers use. Love his pg pieces, too.

DY is a good brand. If you love the ring, go for it!

i love DY jewelry. i have two rings, two pendants and a cuff - all mixed metal since all my other jewelry is yellow gold. his pieces are very distinct. if you're not sure than hold off but if you want it than get it.

I have a few pieces and one ring. The ring is mixed silver and yellow gold with diamonds. I've had several years and still love it. Classic, wearable, great paired with other jewelry.

I was never a big wearer of jewelry and would only like very simple pieces (like a plain silver band with a stone). However, my friend introduced me to David Yurman earlier this year and since then, I have acquired a cable wrap ring in lavender amethyst, châtelaine necklace in hampton blue topaz, and petite wheaton ring in topaz.

I don't think it's worth the money in terms of the product (eg. think of how overpriced Tiffany is for their silver pieces) but remember that you're paying for the art and the brand name. Although those are my thoughts, I do enjoy my David Yurman pieces and do recommend them. They're different and I can see myself wearing them for a really long time.

I admire his designs, but I usually only wear YG so that's really why I don't own any of his pieces. For his prices, I want to love the piece entirely, and which is why I wish he did a bit more YG pieces.

I'm thinking of purchasing a David Yurman 1.1 mm wide necklace. I saw it IRL and it looked really thin. I usually wear my necklaces constantly. I'm concerned that this thin necklace won't stand the test of time. For any of you who own a David Yurman 1.1 mm wide necklace, is it durable and do you wear it all the time? Thank you in advance!

I think that David Yurman is classic and never really goes out of style. I have about 12 pieces - bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings. I haven't bought any for a while because I'm so happy with what I have now. I find that I don't wear the earrings much, but my necklaces and 4 cable bracelets are my go-to pieces. I wear them in different pairings almost every day.

To me, whether it's silver or not doesn't factor into why I find it so attractive.

Maybe Yurman is like a lot of collection designers: it's an acquired taste and the more that you see it the more that you love it!
Do you have any of them with diamonds. I don't own any DY yet, but was going to purchase the SS cable with diamonds and the SS starburst with diamonds. Someone on here mentioned that the silver under the diamonds tarnishes, and cant be cleaned. Thoughts?

I have several pieces with diamonds and they're just fine. Good luck with your purchase.
