Are people tired of Pochette Metis?

I’m so used to seeing these priced over retail that I’m a bit shocked both monogram canvas versions have been in stock online for the last month or so. I recently played with both in store and am quite fond of the reverse monogram. I’m considering adding this to my collection in the new year simply for its functionality and size. I also don’t mind that multiple coworkers own this style, if you love it - buy it!

so let’s take a look at the Design of the Pm:
I think it’s a very Classic Style, it will be never out of fashion!
Just like the design of the speedy and Neverfull. Its a practical yet beautiful bag, can be dressed up and dressed down. You can take it to work and also wear it for night out.
If you truly love it and want it, just go for it!
Life is short - get the bag

The first time I saw PM in mono I hated it ... I was after the Metis Hobo, was late in the game and it had been discontinued. So the SA brought the PM and I declined it...
When they launched it in empreinte, I loved it. Even though I was not into empreinte leather at all, it was the perfect combo for me .... I began searching reviews online and I discovered TPF and all PM issues. I stepped back for 2/3 years, and then brought home PM in empreinte noir with me when my sister's speedy was deemed defective due to glazing issue. I love that bag so much, it is so practical. I bought the turtledove one in a heartbeat when it came out. I wanted one in red but I didn't like the dark glazing ... Years later, I still don't care for PM in mono and I don't like the reverse print.
I think the shape is very classic, plus, if you love the bag, who cares ? I have a caissa clutch (ressemble to the croisette, shape wise) that has been discontinued years ago. Some SA even ask me what bag it is ... I still love and wear the bag.
If you love it, rock it !

I agree, it's one of the most classic bag shapes revved-up by LV; a scaled-down version of a mens briefcase (mid-19C) with just a little LV magical 'zhoosh'.

I know that Pochette Metis is a classic. And I normally dont care what people think, or care about trends. But Im wondering if the Pochette metis is too “mainstream” so people are tired of it? Every season has a “IT bag” that people grow tired of after a couple of seasons. Is this the case with pochette metis? What is your opinion? :flowers:

In my area, it definitely seems to be the neverfull 2.0. Although the neverfull is still very popular here.

I will tell you this as someone who owns a pochette Métis and a coach Cassie: I strongly prefer the Cassie. The leather is very nice. I love the turn lock closure vs. the s lock. I prefer the slip pocket in the back to the zippered closure of the PM.

Obviously not what you were asking but I thought I’d throw it out there.

I'm just starting my bag collection, and initially had my sights set on Neverfull. Then I realized it didn't work for me because it didn't have a zipper and I didn't like the look of the cracked canvas (which apparently is inevitable in my climate). I moved on to the Speedy, and would have purchased it this past weekend if they had it. My boutique was sold out, but they had the PM in Monogram and Reverse, which I asked to see because I was curious about the size. I fell in love with the Monogram after seeing it in person and ended up getting that. I would say it's an uncommon model in my city (Toronto). The Neverfull and the Speedy are everywhere though.

I'm not a monogram kind of girl, and I wasn't considering monogram for the other bags I wanted to get, but there's something so beautiful and classic about the monogram PM. The construction of the PM is solid too, and I find it surprisingly functional even though I'm one of those people who typically carries everything with her. I'm really happy with my purchase, and look forward to wearing it for a long time. I also considered the empreinte noir, which is stunning as well. If you love the bag and you'll wear it, I say get it.

That's the finny thing, people want what they can't get.

Soon as they can get one, they start second guessing themselves.

Only get what you truly love and let fashion take care of itself
That’s how I feel with my Pochette Accessories. Got it in March and forced myself to use it once and never took it out again. Also got one for my mom and she wears hers everyday.

I always disliked the Métis, I mean for years. I didn't undestrand wanting a bag with so many defects, and let's say ugly. And then this year I wanted something very casual in reverse, aaand bang I started loving her. Luckly I've decided to buy it when it was always add to bag, now she's the apple of my eyes, lol. Not tired : )
