Are diamonds by the yard worth it?

Just a fair warning. I splurged in a great color and clarity .25 DBTY in rose gold. I went bigger to keep it centered in the front and the diamond is very noticeable BUT it still twists and turns and ends up creeping up my neck to the side and needing to be fussed with all the time. I have sold this one and took a hit. Just a thought.
It’s not just DBTY - any single pendant necklace will follow the movement of your body and move to one side or the other over time. I waited a long time to get mine and I love playing with it, so it’s not a bother and once my jeweler explained it to me, I didn’t mind it at all. The piece is too special.
I love all my DBTY bracelets and necklaces. I plan to add more down the road. I do own a couple of non branded DBTY and I much prefer the ones I have from Tiffany.
If you really do your homework- you can get one with quality diamonds that looks as good or better than the branded for much less $.
Hi Luxe, have you make your decision? I’m also debating between Tiffany and Cartier.
I haven't tried the Tiffany DBTY but I was drawn to the yellow gold Cartier large model diamond legers. mostly because of how the chain itself sparkles! I have it layered with a rose gold Tiffany key necklace and chain here just to show.
Hi! I did in fact. I ended up getting the Cartier diamants legers - I got the in between size (I think it was S). I'm super happy with it, I've been wearing it 24/7 since I got it.
My comments on the Cartier is that the chain is super sparkly. I think (but can't be sure cause I didn't try the Tiffany DBTY) that the Cartier chain may be more 'textured' so it sparkles more if uou get me. The diamond itself is really nice but I also like the bezel effect the setting has. All in all, I would say IMO the cartier one has the emphasis more on the setting and chain so I prefer it as a piece on it's own (and fits my style). It has a bit more presence even in photos.

I have a dbty yg in just 0.05 carats and i love the dainty look of it. Sometimes i will add on another necklace to have the layering effect. Never regretted getting it. 
I ended up ordering both, DBTY and Legers. Now I’m more confused about which one I should keep. Let me know your thoughts, please ❤

Both are beautiful! It depends on what you are looking for. The DBTY is 100% about the diamond while Cartier has a more setting presence.
i am more biased towards the dbty as the diamond presence is more obvious? The cartier pc seemed to have a bigger “frame” round the diamond hence it might sort of take away some attention from the diamond itself?
most importantly, which pc do you love the most?
