Are Coach leather bags respected?

I know a lot of people have been saying that Coach bags are "out". I can understand how the signature print may seem dated (personally, I find all designer logo prints to be a hit or miss) but what about the leather bags? I am thinking of buying a leather bag that's trendy and classy online and wondering if the stigma is also attached to the leather goods.

I mean, not that I care too much, but it does play a small part since handbags are somewhat of a status symbol to me.

I honestly don't care what others think-why should you bother? Coach is doing their makeover right now, and this is their transition period; some people will love the change, others won't. And others will continue to snub Coach, whether or not they know about the recent happenings. Before this point I carried all premier designers, and recently I jumped on the Coach bandwagon for their capsule collection, which I love. The point is to wear what you like, not what others approve. Frankly, I've had enough justifying my purchases to other people to worry about what they feel.

Where I live, most people probably don't know my bags are Coach *because* they are leather. Unless they are also Coach lovers, too, anyway. I buy what I love, and I love Coach. It's actually never occurred to me that there was a stigma! If there is, then oh well, I don't really care. I don't buy bags for others; I buy them for me. I don't mean to sound bad or mean here, really I don't, but if you are worried, maybe buy a different brand? Coach bags last forever and are usually great quality, but you have to be proud to carry whatever you carry and love or it's just a waste of money. :smile1:

I've never thought about that, to be honest, and have no clue as to an answer.
I love my Coach bags. I'm up to 24 now...and am hoping to add a 25th soon. ( most are leather, but I do own 4 fabric bags.) Coach is the only brand I own, and I don't really see that changing any time in the foreseeable future.
I carry my Coach bags for ME. I don't give a rat's patootie if other people respect them or not.

I just bought my bag half an hour ago :smile1:! I'm not going to not buy a bag because of what other people think but I was just wondering what other people thought of non-signature Coach bags right now, especially since they are in a transition period right now as previous poster mentioned.

My SA has told me Coach wants to move away from signature bags but know some people will always like them so they will keep making them, just less.

I like "symbol" designs so I'm a fan of the horse and carriage more than letter initials. But I'm not against signature if its kept clean. Too often its when people carry dirty fabric bags that bother me more than worn leather which has nothing to do with a signature.

I would still buy a Coach bag if they did away with the C's and the Coach name from the entire bag. I like Dooney leather too but I'm just not in favor of the duck - call me part of the horsey set.:hs: So which bag did you get?

Hi everyone. I have posted hardly at all but am an old, old fan of Coach who came back to it with the Kristin line. The leather on that line is elegant, IMO. The Molly's, Rory's and other legacy leather are really fine pieces. Plus and I love the needlepoint C's and
I especially love the brown on brown C's. Very different palette.

I see that you're new, but let's get you broken in right away. You absolutely CANNOT drop a "I bought my bag a half hour ago" and not post pics or at LEAST tell us what you bought. One thing you'll learn around here - we wanna SEE! Pics or it didn't happen! :roflmfao::p

I like Dooney leather too.....I just can't get past that 'Christmas interior' they seem to use in every bag.

She's serious too. :roflmfao:

I don't really care about other's opinions, but Coach makes some great leather bags, and I carry mine with pride. I actually get a lot of compliments on them, and people often don't even know they are looking at a Coach bag, because most people where I live are used to seeing MFF signature bags. People just notice the soft, luxurious leather and fabulous hardware.

If you purchase purses for status then maybe you should forgo Coach and get a Birkin cause LV, COACH or Michael Kors arent going to give your ego the stroke it needs. Of course most wont recognize a real Birkin so then you run into another first world problem, spending all that money and no one even knows. Better keep the price tag on it, that might help with status.
