Are backpack purses back in style?

I needed a travel bag and ended up getting the Tumi Alpha Bravo. So much easier to travel with a 4 year old by myself without worrying about carrying around a purse!

Report from the backpack trenches: I love the style too much to give it up, but the Herbag is NOT a good backpack. Its main flaws: (1) difficult to close, (2) impossible to carry as a backpack open, (3) inadequate depth to fill with stuff. I'll prob switch it to Kelly style. Now seeking a new leather backpack... sigh. The Vera Bradley backpack looks gorgeous!

Elisian, I stand corrected on the backpack trend. I finally found one that I adored...in the least likely of all places - the Bebe catalog. I flipped through it, found it and loved it, asked if they had it, but no, no that day....then I walked in bleary-eyed on Black Friday and saw it there, brand new and the only one in the store that the SA said just arrived the day before, and I bought it on the spot at 2:30 a.m. 30% Black Friday special, too, so I spent around $65 including tax.

It's not even real leather but I love this thing to the point of being ridiculous. I love the puffy nylon quilting on the front and the bling from the chain.

I don't know if I'm going to use this as a "purse/bag" or as an actual backpack, but as a teacher I have to carry so much stuff around with me, I know it'll get a ton of use.

^^:goodpost:

Isn't this why we love bags? It isn't about the brand. It's about about the connection. Congrats on your new best friend!

Ahhhh, amazing backpack!! Congrats! :D

Not sure I'd say they ever went out of style, there always seem to be some around here. But lately I have seen a lot more of them. I agree they might be good for mothers with babies/toddlers who need their hands free but I'd worry about it being easier to steal something out of one.

Hi all I just found this thread and could use your help...I just bought the Moschino fast food backpack on sale ($297)...do you all think this bag is too trendy/not worth it? I'd like to get at least a years use out of it...thanks for the help!
