The prices that resellers ask are dictated by scarcity, as you may know it can be difficult to buy a Kelly in this color at an Hermes boutique. For this reason the prices they ask are often much higher than retail.

I don't see issues in the pictures, but I do think they could be clearer. I think the bag is authentic, but I would have wished the detail pictures were easier to see.

This is an authentic Birkin. I looked at the pictures and I think that Hermes will be able to treat these issues successfully.

Also, please, please, please ... avoid low feedback sellers and where there is feedback, check it carefully. Does the seller have a good record for selling authentic luxury goods? Is the feedback from Ebayers who have low feedback themselves? Have you done a search on PF to see what their feedback is like for selling other designer goods, if they have, and on Google as well? There are also tools to check for expired negative feedback.

$2500 may seem like a great deal on a Birkin but gracekelly is right - an authentic one will not sell for that little. And it's far too much to lose on a fake.

Thanks to you and gracekelly for the info. I just asked for authentication before I went back and saw these two posts. I would appreciate addressing my inquiry, if possible. I guess we need to go by the old adage...if it looks too good to be true...:smile1:

Dear valued authenticators, can someone please take a look at the bag above and give an opinion? I have bought quite a number of authentic vintage Helmut Lang items from this seller and was wondering if this Lakis would be authentic too? Thank you so much for volunteering your time. And would this price be fair for its condition? And also I saw that the listing indicated that it comes without a strap and yet the first couple of photos shows a strap?
