i have reread more than twice! What's wrong with my post dear?
The format is copied from the 1st thread.

From the first post in this thread:

Reasons why some requests may not be answered:
  • It is the preference of the authenticators on this thread not to give authentication to members who buy and resell bags.
  • It is also the preference of the authenticators to comment on current, not closed, auctions and sales, and to give authentication to members who post in a range of threads, not just requesting free authentication for designer items.
  • We will not authenticate for those who post photos only and cannot provide link to a live online auction/sale.
  • If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.

I wasn't "plugging" anything, just offering the ignored a few basic steps they can take to begin to educate themselves. You know as well as I do that when it comes to all the crummy Guangzhou fakes sprouting up on Ebay like colon polyps, it's an incredibly low bar.

I maintain that if you want to recognize the real thing, there's simply no substitute for repeated exposure to the real thing. And anyone who knows the first thing about the brand knows Malleries and L'Ecrin are reputable sites with a wide variety of authentic products, end of story. Where else should people go to develop a discriminating eye? Telling people to observe the bags in celebrity/socialite snaps would be disastrous because they'd be getting an eyeful of O*** and U**** B**** fakes all day long. And don't even get me started on Ebay. (Hint: it's not just the 0-feedback Asian sellers you should be watching out for.)

My "familiarity with authentic items" stems from my experience as a gold-leaf bookbinding artisan who was hired by a high-end Hong Kong handbag boutique to hand-tool/render monograms in my Manhattan home studio. Quite an expensive service, but his clients thought I was worth it. I've seen it ALL: authentic, good fake, bad fake, and in-between. I wasn't offering authentication advice, but if anyone feels like testing me--leather, stitching, thread quality, stamping, you name it-- I'd be delighted to take it up in a PM or another thread.

We do encourage people to educate themselves, but this thread is for specific requests only. And as I pointed out, there are reasons some requests are not answered. We also do not discuss what makes a bag fake or authentic.

As for your offer to have people PM to "test" you, we do not permit any private authentications, even in the event you are able to distinguish fake from real Hermes. Please also do not start any authentication threads; these will be deleted.

Please feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this further, as it is taking this thread off topic. Thank you.

Just to add to what you wrote - I have seen fakes on Malleries and sellers have been expelled from Malleries for selling them.

It's the bag or item you need to judge, as well as the seller and provenance.

I see you are quite new.

Would you please read the first post on this thread, #1, for instructions? Your post is not correct.

However this time I can tell you on this bag that the whole auction is a complete invention. The seller does not have the bag described. The pictures and text are copied from someone else. Never bid on an auction by a zero feedback seller.

Please stay with us, participate in our other threads, and I hope you can learn more.

It's your choice to trust either 1) a random 0 feedback seller on ebay who you know nothing of, probably live in a foreign country from you; or 2) a well established authenticator on the most popular purse forum who has her own authenticating business?

You don't want to know how many sellers will say their item is 100% authentic while it's a blatant fake. Don't think an item is authentic, just because the seller says it is.
And, this is a zero feedback seller. The pictures are probably copied/stolen from another listing or website. The highest bidder will probably receive no bag at all, or a fake. You might believe in miracles, but an almost new and authentic Birkin for 3K is not going to happen. You might find a vintage Kelly for that price with a little bit of luck, but definitely not an authentic Birkin.
