Apple Garde on Hot Stamped tag?

Hi everyone! I am a HUGE fane of Apple Garde for vachetta! I just started collecting stamped luggage tags and was wondering if anyone has tried using Apple Garde on foil? Not sure if it will cause the foil to come off?
I don't want the tags to patina too fast and I plan on having them on a wall display.

I put collonil waterproof spray on my hot stamped luggage tag. I was a bit scared that it wasn't a good idea but it seemed okay but it hasn't been long enough for me to say about wear and tear.

I Apple Garde all of my vachetta except the luggage tags. Foil stamping can come off without it so adding it didn't seem like a great idea to me.
