you are not supposed to moisturize the old legacy leather not sure about the new ones. You should read your care cards. I ordered mine on leatherstuff.com but use it on my bags that can be conditioned my lg ERgo Tote and soho hobo, smooth leather top handle pouch, soho flap,my classic wristlets and the trim on my signature bags that is regular smooth leather.

1) Are there stores at which these products can be purchased (I think someone mentioned AutoZone)? The only stores I have heard of that carry Apple are Burlington Coat Factory, but not all of them do, so I would call first.
2) Other than conditioning, are there other applications that should be used? (water-proofing etc...or maybe conditioning is a one-step process?)
Conditioning with Apple Leather Care will somewhat protect your bag as well as moiturize it and gently clean it, but for extra protection I use Wilson's TLC leather protector spray to protect it from water. I prefer Wilson's to other leather protectors because it has never changed the color or texture of the leathers I have treated.
3) How often should bags be conditioned?
It depends on your climate, but a couple times a year is genrally sufficient. More if you live in an arid area, if there are scratches you want to buff out, etc.
4) Why is it Coach recommends against this practice? Seems strange when all you Coachies speak so highly of these products...are they different than what Coach sells?
Apple is much gentler than other leather products, and it does not contain silicones like Coach's conditioner does, which can eventually ruin the leather and keep it from "breathing".
5) Are the Legacy bags the only ones you condition?
I condition all my leather bags.
6) Do you also condition other pieces...i.e. wallets etc?
I also condition my leather wallets - DH's looks great now!
7) Legacy Thompson Top Handle owners: can this bag be conditioned and/or waterproofed?
I do not own a Thompson, but since Apple is very gentle I would say it should be fine. (It worked great on my Botkier lambskin satchel, which is a much more delicate leather than the Thompson.) If it is a lighter color I would begin lightly - and always apply the conditioner to a cloth and then buff it on so it is applied evenly. Don't apply the conditioner diretly onto the leather.

Ohh, I'm glad there is a post about Apple care today!

I just got my first all leather coach bag for my birthday yesterday (hamptons hobo) and ordered some Apple Moisturizer and Cleaner. I also ordered the Apple Guard Spray, but do any of you actually use this spray? I figure if I can't use it on my bags, I can at least use it for shoes.

Here is a pic on a webstite that sells the stuff.

There is also a stain/water repellant--would that be ok to buy with it? How exactly do you use the conditioner? I want my Gigi to look really purty! LOL! and do you spray the water repellant FIRST or AFTER you condition it? Forgive my ignorance, I've never conditioned a leather bag! LOL!

I use both..the Rain & Stain and the Leather Care Conditioner, but I've never tried the actual Leather Cleaner. I've used the Conditioner first if the leather seems really dry, then I've sprayed with the Rain & Stain. I use both on my Legacy bags and have had no problems at all with color change. I did make the mistake of not spraying my Legacy Walnut Shoulder bag, although I had conditioned her twice before taking her out, and she got some spots from a little rain we were having. The spots have blended in, but I know they are there :crybaby: The rest of my Legacy bags have been sprayed and conditioned and are just fine  So if anyone is afraid to use the Apple products on their Legacy bags, please don't be...these are the very best products! I have used them on the following colors of Legacy Leather: Camel, Whiskey, Walnut, Raisin, Black and Clay (this color took to the Apple Conditioner the best!! The bag had scratches all over it, now you'd never know it had any!!)

Sorry for the long post..but I LOVE Apple products!!

Does anyone use the apple on the ergo vintage leather? Does it work wonder too? I'm thinkin of using one coz the scratches she starts to have but still reluctant since the care card said not to do so :confused1:

Extremely helpful info! This Apple stuff sounds amazing yet so gentle...I'm assuming it's also okay to use on the Bleeker zip top hobo leather because I just picked one up the other day and I can't wait to use it...

Thanks for starting this thread and thanks for the replies! I have only had Coach's conditioner and cleaner for my gallery tote and my calfskin satchel. I just got some legacy (Leigh, Gigi, and shoulder flap) that I was concerned about. I am going to hope that my Burlington Coat Factory has this apple stuff too. You are all so helpful!

I just purchased Appleguard. Do you think this change the color and texture?

I have not tried Applegard personally. Most reviews I have read on this forum have been positive about it, but there have been a few people that have had it darken their leather, and I seem to remember a very few that had issues with spotching on certain very soft, porous type leathers. I think most of the Coach experiences with Applegard have been postive, though.
