on my rosegold parker, and it turned out great. In fact, made it a bit softer! I went lightly, went to bed and it was fine!

Thanks for sharing this info! I am planning on trying the Apple Guard spray on my Parker lilac shimmer bag and it is reassuring to know that it worked well on your Parker bag.

Slightly off topic, but a Coach SA told me that using non-Coach leather products voids Coach warranty. I don't believe a word of it (plus she was telling me to use Coach conditioner on a 65th anniv. legacy purse... I thought the Coach care card says not to treat it, so why would she suggest Coach products for it?) Anyhow, I still wanted to ask if anyone else had been told something similar.

AFAIK = as far as I know

I actually think I might start looking at more wilson leather spray or shining monkey because the cans of spray I'm getting from my local leather stores ( apple rain guarde) are creating a TON of mess and leak as I spray.

Have you tried any of the Wilson products? Thinking about making a trip there and was just wondering how that worked out for you.

^^^

I prefer Apple's conditioner, but I use Wilson's TLC protector spray on all my bags. It is great! It has never changed the color or texture of any of my leathers, plu sit protects really well. Another PFer said she spilled Italian dressing on a bag she had sprayed with it, and it cleaned up without a mark! I have never had that happen to me (knock on wood) but it seems to work great on my bags.

what should I use on my platinum metallic bridgit to protect the leather? i am worried about the metallic rubbing off. Thanks.:D

Any of the protectant sprays, I've had sometimes lousy "spray" with the apple guard, but the wilsons works well (as others have used similar products of diff. brand names as well). I would suggest NO conditioner. And apply 2x coats to it.

I have the parker hippie in the op art light khaki, the handle has 2 small pen marks. Is there anything I can do to get them out? How should I go about protecting the leather pieces of this bag?
Thanks

My sister recently got a slim envelope wallet in light mauve. I asked her to condition the wallet with Apple Leather Care prior to using and was shocked to hear that she has kind of ruined it while conditioning the wallet. It seems that there was a small spot on the wallet and when she was conditioning it, the small spot sort of spread and became bigger. And the more she try to buff the spot out, the bigger it got.

I passed her some Apple Leather Cleaner and it seemed to lighten the spot slightly but it's definitely still there. Now we are kind of afraid to do anything more to it because it's starting to seem like the color is being lifted off the leather. In fact, my sister thinks the brown color is the color of the leather beneath the pink dye that is showing through.

I have used Apple conditioner many times before this without any problem.

Has this happened to anyone before and/or does anyone know how to fix this? TIA!

I do believe what you are seeing is the underside beneath the colored top. It is also possible that the wallet rubbed up against something and caught the color, but conditioning won't lighten it if it really is the under color beneath the purple. If it's a stain, then it SHOULD lighten, but no guarantees.

If you rub on hard on QUITE a few bags/items you will find that the color is not as perm. as you might think, and with any abrasive rubbing (soft cloth hopefully was used!) you have the chance to rub to hard and break the surface color.

I had a pebbled bag that if I rubbed to hard I was actually rubbing off the top color/buff and exposing the other layer, so yes, hard rubbing and consistent can break the surface protection.
