After 6 weeks and weekly emails to MyTheresa I am finally getting a full refund. No apology, no discount code for a future, no email from Saint Laurent,... this is really disappointing. I am never buying something from them again.

Whoa! Can't believe YSL's attitude! And Tokyo's service surprised me too! I visit Tokyo every year and one of the things I love most about the city is their superb customer service.

I was on the fence for a SDJ, the lack of a zipper was the deterrent. After reading these, I'm not sure if I should get it at all.
Thanks for sharing and raising awareness!

I think if you have a Saint Laurent store in your country and buy it from there, it's already less of a hassle if you have a problem. Easier to deal with an actual person that through emails but still... In the meantime I have done some research and apparently quite a few persons have had issues with the chains. It's just very disappointing when you decide to finally drop so much money on a bag.

Wow this thread is just horrendous. I know that quality for luxury brands (all of them, truly) have gone downhill, with outsourced manufacturing, rising prices. It's a darn shame we as consumers are tricked by the man behind the curtain until we realize too late that the pieces we spend our hard earned money on aren't really buying us far superior quality. SMH

Wow it's scary to hear about these stories! I own 3 Y ligne cabas, one in the older version with the Y stitching, the other 2 in the newer more minimalistic version but all with just the Y buckle. The later two were purchased 1.5 years ago and just a few months ago.

The older version I've had about more than 3 years, it is made with a more glossy finished leather in dark grey and it stills hold up very well, I've used it in the rain, put heavy things in it, took it with me on a recent euro trip, and it still looks great. It's one of my go to bags.
The later versions I haven't used that much, but both of them are still as good as new right now (fingers crossed).

Hopefully SL does a better job at quality control now they're getting this many complaints.

Yes it's horrible and disappointing because I don't think I'll ever buy something from Saint Laurent ever again. I think it happens more often than we think but not many people will post about it. I just wanted to "warn" people. Now I am in the market for a new tote and I can't find anything I like! lol
