I watched the auction today at work. I was only paying half attention to the auction and ended up making an impulsive bid and winning a 35 Kelly Alezan in Vache Liegee. I think work distracted me and made me push that button too quickly [emoji6]
Remember there's a buyer premium on top of that, so the Egee for instance was closer to $7K.but i'm quite surprise with the final prices of a few pieces........I thought they should be more......
ie. Amethyst Croc Egee $5800........other croc Kelly cut around $10000??

I am kicking myself for not pushing the button on a Barenia K32 that sold for $6K (with premium) but I really prefer to have seen the bags in person at the preview or to at least discuss with the staff prior.
Yes, and as I observed the lovely amethyst croc Egee went close to $7K. I was responding to the post saying it closed at $5800.Actually if you log in and click the item lot number the prices listed as realized include the buyers premium in the posted price. Pretty99 is correct, a lot of croc pieces sold for surprisingly low numbers even to an inexperienced observer like myself. It made me wonder about the real resale value of exotics now that the prices are so high.

HA closes an item at the hammer price and reports the final price with premium. This is standard for auction houses. Unusually they also show price with premium during the auction, which is useful and quite open of them.
Premium is just a psychological tool to increase auction activity.
