Anyone watching the Heritage auction this morning?

I had the same reaction as all of you! There is not one thing there that I think is truly rare, and the prices are deranged. Not even remotely tempted. Fortunately. :p

I got the email as well. Not tempted at all but I must say it is fun/funny to see that some people are actually buying them at these crazy prices! People tend to lose all sense when it comes to prices at Christmas/holiday season. :)

I won one of the items yesterday and still can't get them to send me an invoice or info on shipping. I just keep getting automated e-mails telling me I was the high bidder.

Usually when an auction house does the equivalent of a "buy it now", the prices will be very high - basically higher than they expect an excited bidder to go, plus buyer's premium.

Heritage Auction realized prices can be reasonable. I bought a croc Toolbox 20 a year ago for USD 12K (sadly for my sister, not me) and I remember a tPFer getting a great RV or RH Kelly for under $5K. The Noisette B30 in this week's auction I would have bought in a heartbeat if I actually needed another bag in that color.

My sadness is the PHW Raisin Trim 35 from this auction - I really, really wanted this and I hope it went to a forum member - but at $2500 with a visible stain on the bag it was not for me. Still, GREAT bag!

I was watching that bag and received notice yesterday that it was available for purchase. Apparently, the auction buyer did not purchase. I was watching at the time and thought it was purchased. something must have happened.

For the non Bs & Ks, some of the prices could be reasonable. I saw a BJ Bolide 31 sold for $2900 so with a 30% fees, it is still reasonable. Did you see the mini Plume in Ostrich that went for less than $2K ? Something was really slow with my internet speed. I kept hitting the button and it didn't get entered so I lost it.

I think the most expensive bag that was sold was the Hamalyan Croc B for $95K but supposed to see a Red Croc B with diamonds only sold for $65 K. Previously any diamonds encrusted Bs would go for $100K.

Heritage always places a "make offer" option on completed auctions, just in case the winning bidder would entertain an offer. Doesn't mean the bag is for sale....I wish!

Run2004, the white stain on the side of the bag is perfectly visible in even the smaller images. I confirmed this condition issue with the luxury accessories staff at Heritage prior to the auction. They said it appeared to be a gummy substance and did not know if it could be removed by Hermes.
