anyone lose interest in Pandora? Regrets?

I bought my best friend a pandora bracelet to give her on her wedding day two years ago and have wanted one for myself ever since. I got one yesterday from my hubby for Valentine's day. So far we have put $500 into it and it is 1/3 full with charms. I absolutely love it and look forward to adding charms on as special occasions come up in the future. Each of my charms represent something or someone special to me so I can't imagine tiring of it or caring if people are still into them in 10 years. I will treasure it always. I am keeping mine fairly simple looking in that I am collecting all silver charms and not using any colors, so I don't think it will ever look out of place.

All that said, I think it depends on the person and the bracelet. If the charms have represent something significant in your life, I think you are more likely to wear it for years and years to come. If you select charms based on what you think is pretty or trendy then I can see getting sick of it in the not too distant future.

Heaps cheaper than my obsession with &Co!!

Maybe not.... My bracelet is alternating gold and two tone charms. Just one ir two of the two tones could have been a SS necklace, bracelet or earrings, and just two to three gold charms could have been a Tiffany yg necklace. By the time my bracelet is finished it will have coat me about $3500 (feel like I have to continue my "pattern" now.

That could have been a number of nice Tiffany pieces, rather than one overpriced bracelet...

I started one when they were doing the free bracelet promotion. Unfortunately, I've found that not very many charms appeal to me, and when they do, they're the ridiculously expensive ones. I haven't progressed past the 2 clips and 1 charm that I started with!

I agree. I was never into Pandora initially but then when I finally got one and started adding charms that were "me" instead of just because they were pretty, it grew on me. I don't feel like it is outdated or will be like a typical charm bracelet that our grandmothers wore for instance and instead just a nice significant piece of jewelry with meaning rather than something you just picked up somewhere one day because it was pretty.

I currently only have about 8-9 charms so mine is only about half full but I will only add to it when I have something else that is of significance, so I guess I don't feel the huge need to make sure it is filled up and spend all kinds of money. My bracelet has only cost me about $300 in total so far. Now I think if you get into the gold ones and more expensive charms it can be expensive, yes, but otherwise just to have something that you wear that means something rather than just trying to accessorize to go with your outfit for instance really makes it that much more special. Those types of charms that represent children, hobbies, pets, family, etc. will never go out of style.

I don't have a pandora bracelet, but once went to a site that allows you to create a bracelet online. I'm not a silver-lover, so chose gold charms. Once I had filled the bracelet with charms it was something like $14k. That pretty much killed any tiny desire I had for the bracelet.

I think the bracelets are a sweet way to build a little memory bank of charms for special occasions, but I think I'd lose interest at some point.

I have a beautiful Pandora bracelet. I don't wear it, because I lost interest in Pandora sometime last year, but I can't bring myself to sell off the beads due to sentimental reasons. I realize that I could easily regain the $3k or so I spent by selling the bracelet and charms, but many are now retired and I wouldn't be able to get them back if I changed my mind... So, it sits in a jewelry box waiting for me to either wear it or sell it.

I worked at a Pandora store a few years ago over Christmas and we had to wear them for advertising.
Never liked them. Their silver isn't very nicely made, it's all mass-produced in china , I didn't mind their gold ( all though I don't care for their tone of gold, too light yellow). However, it's insanely pricey. The bracelet alone was 1200$ from memory and the cheapest gold charm was 300$ or something. You could easily spend 3000$ and not even see it! I get that it's a charm for every occasion and building up a sentimental piece of jewellery over time. But for me , I would rather buy a Tiffany charm bracelet. Their charms are much nicer and better made, even if you get the silver. Still achievable price wise but more heirloom then Pandora.

I have Trollbeads, which I have been collecting now for nearly 2 years. I really love them, I wear them at least a few times a week. But I have been frequently tempted by Pandora, but not my style. Trollbeads has a different flair to it.. I love the antiqued silver beads and I feel the artistry of Trollbeads glass is a bit more detailed.

If I were to make a decision based on your screenname, then you may find trollbeads more appealing than pandora ;)

I love my Pandora bracelet, but I'll admit that I have also lost interest in it. I hardly ever wear it. I cannot wear it to work because I wear it on my right wrist and that's also my mouse wrist. It clunks or taps on my desk when I use the mouse and is basically uncomfortable. I love it and won't part with it, but it isn't worn with any regularity.

I was reading one of the threads around here, I think it was "worth it, not worth it," where posters compared Pandora to those $5 bead bracelets one buys in the craft store check-out lines. I thought dang, I'm one of those people who buys those plastic bead bracelets. I wear them to shreds, until they look faded and pathetic. So I decided to upgrade to Pandora during their free bracelet promotion. Thing is I discovered rather quickly that I liked only a couple of their sterling charms, and everything is terribly expensive.

Then I discovered Redbalifrog beads. Large very detailed sterling beads. (I adore sterling, and don't really care much for gold.) So I alternate Redbalifrog beads with Pandora muranos, which have large sterling end caps, and come in whites, grays and some fairly subdued pastels. Love the Trollbead glass beads, but don't want to go down that rabbit hole and start another pricey bracelet.

I've worn my bracelet almost every day since I started it last summer. It has beads that symbolize to me things that make life joyful: birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, flowers and leaves similar to the ones in my garden. Things I never tire of enjoying or thinking about. Alternating with my favorite colors. Definitely my favorite piece of jewelry. I've had traditional charm bracelets in the past but never wore them because they jangled too much and got in the way.

Sounds lovely, would love to see it!
