anyone have experience with Aldo shoes?

I just bought a pair of flats yesterday - I think they are modern, comfy, and stylish. I agree with Izznit, the shoes run a bit small; try on several to find the right fit.

Anyone know how long Aldo has been around? I bought a pair of boots that look vintage, feel very comfy and look to be well made. They do look totally 70s with a wedge heel. They are above ankle with a side zipper. Great with casual jeans.

I have quite wide feet and all my past pairs of Aldo shoes (flats, heels) have hurt my feet and caused redness or blisters. But I also have sensitive feet. I love their designs, I just can't wear their shoes. Gave all of mine away to relatives and friends

I stopped buying them. Once in a while a few years ago, I could find some of the shoes/boots being made in Italy, now they are starting to be made in China. Leather quality not as good as it was in the past, and the boots are mainly nearly all synthetic.

I used to work there in high school - only lasted a couple of months - worst job ever!

In general, the shoes are terribly made but there are a few gems in the rough every now and again. However, I would rather buy Nine West (also not a huge fan) over ALdo.

If you buy Aldo Shoes, make sure to choose the ones that are made in Brazil, which usually cost about $150 and up. They are made of real leather, lining and all.
Forget those that are made in China. The quality difference is just too great.
My Aldo "Whitsey" are made in Brazil and i could walk for hours in them.
In contrast, i tried some made in China Aldos in stores and found them not comfortable at all :-/

Just don’t. I tried. First time it was a pair of boots – cute and surprisingly comfortable, $110 CAD before tax back in 2005. The toe box split after 10 days. I took them back and the manager refused to exchange or accept them as a return. I had to go all the way to their head office and they made the manager to exchange the pair. Well, what do you know – they lasted for full 14 days. This time around I just dropped them in the garbage bin. My second purchase was an oxford shoe. I really, really wanted oxfords shoes. They looked real nice, unfortunately comfort was not considered and they started to look cheap real fast, probably in two months they got the look of shoes, bought in the 80’s.
I check their styles occasionally and I have never seen anything but “Made in China” stamped on the shoes. I like how someone put it “designer inspired”. To me these shoes are just poor knockoffs without the benefit of the really low price. I think Nine West has better made shoes (or at least it used to, because my last pair of NW heels was bought in 2006).

If they have shoes, made in Brazil, try them but still do not pay full price.

I don't find them good quality at all. They might say they're leather but they don't feel much better than synthetic-and more and more of their shoes are not leather. They are very stiff and never really soften up. I only buy things like sandals that will only be worn for a few months of the year.

they're pretty uncomfy and cheaply made. i used to buy them when i was in HS/college and couldn't afford nicer shoes. i would spend a little more for something that will last longer.

yeah I found this too be true too, I bought a couple pairs over the years and 1 not one was made with real leather and 2 they caused so much pain in my foot that I had to get rid of them fast, I will admit though I do like there sandals though.

I never thought about the comfort factor with Aldo shoes but tis true, they are not designed for comfort. Price-wise and style-wise they are good. But the quality is not the best either.

There are poor quality, one season wear type footwear. They are by no means designer or high quality, they have outlets in every mall and they are for the most part made in China. I prefer to shop at Spring, their sister store. Same quality, much lower price = you get what you pay for. Most of the time they carry similar items just significantly lower prices, rarely do I buy from Aldo. I have a couple flats I got on sale that is it. I live in cananda winter is hard on my footwear so I try to buy cheap fashion boots, not designer footwear (Real UGGS for the cold snowy days). Purses are my vice :)
