I left at 12:30 and the line wasn't long at all! Maybe 50 people tops and it was moving nicely.
Got couple of scarves but no shawl :(
I kept asking but to no evil...

Update on DEBIT Cards - they DO ACCEPT them as long as they can "act as credit cards" (without the pin, just signature).

Thanks Lemonde!

I am heading out shortly. Really afraid of driving in NYC and am worried about parking too :(

DH was hungry so we had to go to lunch...
I'm reporting from the bathroom LOL
Forgot to mention they had BABY THINGS! Got a lil' something :)
And apple coin purse was still there when I left (little over $600)
Will write more as soon as we get back home...

no cashmere shawls today ladies
the saleslady was super nice and she doubled check inside to check.
No shawls at all :crybaby:I'm thinking about going again tomorrow LOL (DH thinks I'm a lil' nuts ) I forgot to buy fragrances... Don't even know how much they were... Anyone remembers?

SAs were indeed very pleasant which nicely surprised me after reading previous posts.

I'm finally back home but it turns out my camera is dead, have to charge the battery... :push:

Thank you again everyone for good wishes :cutesy: Will be back tonight with a 'sale reveal' (have to run some booooring errands now lol)

I wonder, is cashmere shawl becoming the next "Birkin" object de rigeure(Spelling?) ?
I got one by pure accident, and only because I loved the colorway, I would rather have it in mousseline.
And what is the "cashmere mafia": people who wear shawls or those who resell them?

LeMonde, frangrances were a good deal. The Merveilles was either $30 or $35, the Faubourg was $45, the Merveilles glitter powder was $15, the eye brightener was $3 (!), the Jardin gift set I think was around $50 (not quite sure) and the Caleche refills were something also ridiculous. I want to say $10, but I think I'm confusing that with the men's side. Since the set of Vert Orange was $10 (I think it's a bag, with cologne, soap and body gel - didn't get one but they were in everyone's bags). Meanwhile, the cologne by itself was $12 - but supposedly more concentrated hence the higher price. The other men's colognes I didn't catch.

It was a decent sale, but not like the old sales in Tribeca (does anyone remember those? and how the prices would get marked down each day?). My only annoyance was the checkout people, the lady had the nerve to give my baby a dirty look since he left cracker crumbs in the shopping bag. Sorry, don't mean to rant but he's a year and a half old, he doesn't know any better. And she ended up throwing the scarves I purchased on top of the cracker crumbs at the bottom of the bag so now they are all covered :cursing: Sorry, don't mean to go on...

Hi Ladies... just back and I found a few goodies...
Although I thought the scarf selection was rather slim.. I did manage to find a few I had to have. ;)
I also got 2 very large fringed cashmere scarves/wraps... both in a herringbone pattern.. one beige, one charcoal. And I picked up a GP tote in havanne for a friend.
I got there around 12 or so and did not wait very long at all to get in. I waited longer to check out I think...
And for anybody looking for RTW - I thought the selection looked pretty good. Especially for men. I think I will take DH on Saturday to see if anything is left....

I was there during the private sale and noticed a group of women that had a "Survivor" like pact when it came to finding things for each other and since they were pretty hard core, I dubbed them the "cashmere mafia"...plenty of others at the sale (me included) was coveting their cashmere shawl collection. I think they literally scooped up the initial stack and just threw it in their white bags.

The cashmere shawls are really handy and warm...but it's the price that's a real killer!

yup i agree the salespeople there were so helpful! i wanted a large garden party so i kept walking around and asking her and she said its all out but a few of the ladies that havent checked out have them...once they put it back here i will hold it for you. Someone returned it and she got it for me!!!! :yahoo:

the bag didnt have the dustbag attached to it so she told me to bring another bag with me so when i get to the register they can remove the dustbag for me. When i finally made it to the register the lady said the dustbag is part of the other bag, if your bag doesnt have it then you dont have it. i looked at her like huh? :noggin:i didnt take it off myself because i didnt want to rip their tags! she had to ask her manager if she could do this and the lady immediately said yes. whats the big deal? i dont understand lol
