m_l_p, though I have since become a frequent wearer of scarves, I didn't use to be, even though I adored H scarves. For that reason I framed a couple as an experiment and fell in love with the results. I now have several and am attaching photos - which are also somewhere in the Hermes as Art thread.

The Fixation is a terrifically useful, contemporary way to frame, though I do it old school. Mine are all in slim gold frames, framed with UV plex and archival supplies to protect the silks. in theory, I should be able to unframe and wear these scarves, though after investing what I've invested, I wouldn't...

This is stunning and a fabulous idea! I’ve been struggling to decide what kind of artwork to put in my house. I used to be a photographer, but I wanted to do something different. Framing my Hermès scarf is the way to go!

Can you share how this was done?

Yay yay yay I FINALLY have a scarf display! Since we just completed some minor renovations DH told me I should go ahead and get one because the scarves mean so much to me, but I think he was also secretly horrified that I planned to do the thumb-tacks-and-magnets method if he declined. What a beautiful spot to display your scarves! Perfect scarf to have on display, too.

I love it! Perfect spot! If you ever invite me over, make sure you don’t display that particular scarf. That much temptation would definitely count as cruel and unusual punishment!!!

Thank you! This summer we will have been here for 15 years, so I’ve had plenty of time to pick the best spot! DH loves it too (maybe even considering another for the 140s?). He mentioned maybe getting a light box for behind it like in the boutiques, but I really think the hall lighting is sufficient.

No worries! I plan to rotate frequently. I just wanted this one up when DH came home from work so that he saw his favorite the first time he saw the display up. Actually I was tempted to download your pictures so I could frame them, maybe even find a way to temporarily put them up nearby when this scarf is up on the display. [emoji8][emoji8][emoji8]

And if you are ever out here, you’d better let me know. We’d have so much fun!!! [emoji8][emoji322][emoji254][emoji4]

So it seems that I have ‘taken one for the team’ here.

DH loved the 90cm scarf display so much he suggested I purchase another to display 140s.

The instruction booklet includes hanging dimensions for both 90s and 140s - although I have never seen a 140 displayed with the H system.

Guess what? There’s a reason for that.

I used the same handyman to hang both, but whereas the 90 setup took no time, the 140 took an hour.

It seems that all H did was extrapolate the dimensions for hanging a 140. But the actual materials require a stronger design. Each time I tried to hang the 140, either the magnets would slide off or the coil broke. We broke three coils before I gave up on using them. We tried moving the anchors too, to places where the 140 would display as flat as possible without losing a coil/magnet (the suggested dimensions did not work).

The problem is that the tension required to hang a 140 evenly between the anchors is much stronger than that needed for a 90. So the system needs stronger coils. This is a huge design flaw on H’s part and I plan to let them know!

I did find an easy workaround, though - gray hairbands. The thicker version (the thin ones stretch out too much to provide sufficient tension). Not thrilled with this outcome, but I paid $600+ for this and I didn’t want to look at plain anchors on my wall!

This was before I switched to gray -

My workaround - wall to be fixed later today -

Just got these back from the framers. They are still working on the Della Cavalleria Favolosa and act 3.

Ps: I apologize the lighting is so yellow. I still have to ask people to mount it in the living room.

Finally have time to put the three up! Now only waiting for the last one. I do have to send one of them back because of the ripples on the bottom
