I was gonna say I DIDN’T know that :P can’t type at work

But yes, basically the fixation kit can be used to hang both 90 and 140. It can hang any size scarf, really- it just depends how far apart you place the posts into the wall. I've attached a picture of the instructions that came with mine. It's just a small card. Hopefully this helps you out in visualizing.

My store also has 70cm (I think? does this size exist?) scarves hanging on their walls. The measurements were adjusted accordingly I'm sure.

These are fixed into the wall- you drill a hole and then screw the posts in. So you must decide beforehand which size you want to hang- 140 or 90.

I had a professional come and do it for me because me + tools = no effing way. Lol

Just for my 90, it takes up a nice chunk of wall space. I visualized it by measuring out some masking tape and putting it on my wall where the scarf would hang.

Hanging scarves: it's the easiest thing to do. My husband decided that he could DIY a solution, and he did so rather nicely. There are lots of magnets of all shapes and sizes available online. It's not that hard to do it yourself, and much cheaper.

Sunlight: that is indeed a concern. We had one hung in a fairly sunny place before, but I consoled myself with it potentially fading if I wear it outside any way.

My cat has never expressed any interest in silk (other than wanting to it in the larger boxes that shoes or bags come from), so that ha never been a concern.

Framing: that is a more permanent solution, not to mention a more expensive one if done using archival materials, which is what you would want want. Your framer can use museum-type glass that protects from UV light (same as, for instance, you would use for delicate old lithographs that tend to yellow). However, a frame will have to figure out how to secure a scarf in a frame, which may be somewhat damaging to it (think pins etc). You won't be able to switch scarves out -- think of it as buying a piece of art with a custom-made frame.

I have come to admit that I am not a scarf person. I am thinking that I want to frame my scarves. But I do not want to use pin. I do not trust the framing guy, hence I want to do it myself.
Anyone knows what to do?
thanks

Hi,

I would advise you to go a specialist in Framing. Why? Because scarves don’t have an exact length and moreover they are silk scarves so it kinds of need to be stitched but without really stitching the silk into the Frame.

I did it one time for “Minuit au faubourg” ! I got a lot of compliment from my friends who had no idea that it was a hermès scarf.
