Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

A few months ago I would have said no, but after starting a new job, with much younger co workers yes.
I'm dying to rotate out my bag, but when your boss owns a MK bag and you walk in with a Lady Dior or Chanel piece, not sure how that would go. :/

Maybe they like their MK bag and don't aspire to have a Dior or Chanel piece? Not everyone is bothered by high end designer items, nor care about others carrying them. I wear my LV and wouldn't wonder or care what others think. It makes life far more pleasant.

Very true, I have lots of co-workers who don't care for designer bags, not that they can't afford it. They just don't have the desire for them. I spend too much time at work and too much money on designer handbags for them to just sit in the closet. I carry my LV with pride and don't give a f### about what others think.

No, but I do try to be cognizant of the appropriateness of what I'm wearing for the situation. While I've worked incredibly hard, I've had a lot of things break my way and in those places where I realize how easily they could have not, I don't carry designer items.

I know she's into designer, when I went into the interview she was wearing Chanel earrings, and has a LV hey holder.

I was going to take my LV to work today (I'm usually lazy and can't be bothered to change bags after the weekend), but then decided that maybe I shouldn't because it's a Monogram canvas so it's quite obvious and I didn't want to come across as a show off... :-s

I used to carry my black Empreinte bastille and brown Mini Lin speedy to work without even thinking twice because they're a bit more subtle and you won't know they're LV until you look closer. I think maybe I need to care less about what others think

Somedays i do wonder why the monogram canvas catches so much attention. My colleague can be carrying a different Chanel bag every week. But if I carry a monogram LV bag that they didn’t see previously, I am being deemed a ‘very branded girl’. I still don’t understand this logic.

Embarrassed? No. If you mean conscious not really either lol. When I see someone carrying a luxury or high end bag or even outfit for that matter , the first thought that comes to my mind is how pretty or wondering which style etc. :lol:Never does it occur to me to actually go ahead and judge their choice so I guess I don’t expect people to do that in return. I understand how it could make someone stand out but really it’s all in your mind imo. I carry my bag with confidence and without a care in the world and if it makes someone uncomfortable it’s their issue not mine. Earned every penny of it and so it is mine to enjoy.:hbeat:

I’m not embarrassed about carrying my LV’s or other designer handbags where I live, but I totally get what you’re saying. I feel it’s important to make people in different economic circumstances feel comfortable. I’m in my 50’s and live in a resort community where these items are commonplace, and the ladies in my social circle also own luxury handbags/accessories. When I was younger it didn’t embarrass me to carry a luxury item, as I had saved for a well made investment piece that would stand the test of time. As I’ve gotten older I have become cautious about the setting in which I carry my bags. At home I can carry luxury bags 100% of the time. In resort settings or large, affluent cities you can carry high end designer bags 100% of the time. We recently traveled to a more economically deprived area of the country so I toned it down by carrying Kate Spade, Coach, or Michael Kors (NOT the ones with logos all over them!). I would have felt pretentious and out of place carrying high end bags, and I really want other people to feel comfortable as well. It turned out to be a mistake because even these affordable bags that are made for the masses ended up getting comments in this different of the country. Next time we go out that way I’m bringing Longchamp and Mulberry, since you can barely see the branding and I think nobody will have heard of them or recognize them.

I don’t carry my LV to work mostly because I think it would start a game of oneupmanship.

I have a co-worker that carries an Evelyn. But still wouldn’t bring my LV. LV mono isn’t the most expensive designer bag out there but it is the showiest. It just is what it is.
