Anybody have any real life experience with Deadly Ponies bags?

I have the Mr Siamese Zip (smaller size of the bag) and the calf leather is lovely and soft but really durable and carefree. Highly recommend, it has become my every day bag. Tried to get a close photo of the texture for you.

whoa thanks so much! they look gorgeous!

I’m contemplating a Deadly Ponies but curious about which age group it’s popular with?
I haven’t seen one in real life and wondering if it’s because it’s mostly carried by a younger market?
I’m in my 30s.

Also, does anyone own a Mr. Molten mini or the Mr. Octo and can share their thoughts?

i think all ages. I have a poster friend on here who is a young career woman, a scientist, and I am an older retired person.

I have the Mr. Octo in gray and have on order the Mr. Verne in Nightshade. I also own the Mr. Siamese midi. The Mr. Octo is a large, slightly heavy bag, but I love it. I had searched for a bucket style bag for a long time, bought some and sent them back. Then I saw the DP Octo and knew it was the one. i am actually carrying it today. DP leather is awesome, especially the deer nappa. I have not found any other leather like the deer. I highly recommend this brand. The quality is outstanding. The hardware is the best on any bag that I have had, it is solid brass.

Thanks for the info!
I was also checking out Mr. Verne. The molten mini is maybe a bit small after all and the Mr. Octo does seem like a large heavy bag and I already have a couple of bucket bags. Very sold on getting a DP in deer nappa, though! Now deciding between the Mr Verne and the mini size

Do not wait too long, they do not last. And they were in sale Rue Stiic at a great price, not sure if they still are.

  1. This is the Deadly Ponies Mr. Verne bag in the color Nightshade which is a very deep navy. A lovely color.

I was surprised to receive my bag from Rue Stiic in a plastic bag, no box. I was expecting the Deadly Ponies purple box . Maybe you don't get that unless you order directly from Deadly Ponies? The price on Rue Stiic certainly offset not getting a box.
Thus, the bag had a serious crease on the side. Fortunately i was able to massage it out.

I love the shape of the bag. The bag is lightly structured and as such you don't get the full deer nappa experience like you do with some of the softer styles, like the Fill n Zip. But I am into more structured bags now, so it works for me.
While structured, it is incredibly soft, pliable and lightweight. The strap is a cross body that I can shorten enough to wear as a shoulder bag, (I am 5'6" tall) but it is a little long for that. I will probably just use the handle.
I love that the handle is offset. It makes it so easy to carry. Plus it is quite comfortable.
The inside is roomy, but it has the usual DP black lining. I am using the Stashio organizers simply so I can see what I want more easily.
The outside pocket is big. I unsnapped it and had a heck of a time getting it snapped again. It is tight. This is not a problem, but hopefully it will loosen a little. I like to have my phone and my keys in an outside pocket and the phone sticking up does not bother me. The pocket can be unsnapped if you want to place your phone sideways so it is completely hidden.
The hardware is DP's wonderful brass. The zipper is so smooth.
It is an excellent quality bag like every DP that I have ever had.
This is a great mid sized, lightweight bag for every day use. The deer nappa is known to be incredibly durable and does not mark.

My new Deadly Ponies Mr Mini Gator Gang. A "mini" bag that is more like a medium sized bag...
Haven't been able to go out for a few weeks so am hanging it on a door handle to help it develop its curves. Ok, I admit that I actually worked the leather at the upper corners to give it a headstart, but now I'm letting nature take its course :-)

Customer care at DP told me that the Bulle lamb would feel softer than their Deer Nappa. I'm quite surprised that the lambskin feels quite substantial (thicker than the Agneau used on Balenciaga bags for sure) and I look forward to seeing how it softens over time.

I'm glad that I got the older version of the bag from Cultstatus rather than the newest style directly from DP. I greatly prefer the triangle logo on this version over the rectangular tag they are sewing onto the bottom of the bag which is their current approach.

Just received my Mr Mini Fill N Buckle from the Deadly Ponies sale last month. Very impressed with the Deer Nappa leather. It has a feel that is totally different from all my other bags. The top milimeter is soft and yielding but underneath that, it feels very firm. So it's both soft and structured at the same time. I keep stroking the bag to enjoy that feel. The cloche in front does not contain anything and is purely decorative. The stitching is clean and tight and the size is nice (more medium than mini). Not sure if this is a forever bag, but I'm definitely glad that I tried it.

I am carrying my DP Mr. Verne today (around the house). I agree that New Zealand deer nappa is different. This is a really cute little bag that holds a lot for its size and I like the big outside pocket on the other side. Plus it is lightweight. It has a messenger strap, but I prefer hand carry with the offset handle. I have three DP bags. Excellent company and excellent products.
