Anybody digging Lanvin lately? Or other super expensive high-end brands that are not "IT" right now?

Who do you think is the next up and coming (or resurrected) super luxury handbag designer?

I'm really glad to see this thread, because I just snatched up the black-and-white Lanvin Jiji during Farfetch's sale and am really happy with it. I was looking for a classier crossbody than my PS1 Tiny, and it's perfect--lightweight, well-made, interesting, and can be casual or dressy. I wish it were slightly bigger and would love a back slip pocket, but those are my only nits. It's my first Lanvin and I've only had it a couple of months so I don't know how it will hold up, but it seems solid. I considered the mini sugar bag, but it seemed too delicate for day wear.

I prefer bags that not everyone has and that are not super-obvious, so Chanel and LV do not generally appeal to me. With both Gucci and Fendi, I love some of the bags and hate others. I adore my Fendi Be Baguette, and just bought a Gucci Marmont that I'm really excited about (it has a 70s vibe to me). I've posted pictures of all these bags below.

I second the Loewe recommendation. Marni and Nina Ricci are also under appreciated in my opinion.

Fabulous bags and thank you for posting!! Your Fendi is lovely as is your Lanvin! The Gucci logo has to grow on me personally as all I see is the old "Cover Girl" logo (I know my oddness completely). I'm glad to hear your jiji is holding up ok. I do get one of them today so we shall see!

Have you bought Loewe? What do you like about them?

I love the Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic. It's beautiful and classic and so Italian. I even love their advertisements. Nothing ridiculously "cutting edge"... just beautiful.

I think D&G is absolutely beautiful. When I was at the boutique all I could think about was... If I lived in Nice or the Italian riviera or Greece I would wear these bags constantly. The colors are amazing. Where I am, they just don't do those bright colors [emoji20]

I just looked at my hotel in Lisbon (going this weekend), and I am 900 meters from the Loewe boutique! I am headed to Barcelona after that. Do you have any of their bags?

Hi. No I don't own any Loewe handbags but I recently had a good look at them. They are beautiful and appear to be made well. Understated and beautiful. Let us know if you pick one up :)

I saw the Lanvin during the Farfetch sale and really liked it! I'm glad you are happy with it. I am going to take a close look at Lanvin next time I'm in Europe.

I don't see what's to gasp about wanting a Lanvin...I own 3 and would buy them over a Chanel any day. The large pebbled calf Happy bag I have is much more comfortable to wear on the shoulder because of the leather pad they put on it. Of the brands in the poll, I have all except D&G, which I'm currently intrigued by. Also getting into contemporary brands lately. Congrats on your purchases and wear them in good health!

I was saying that in jest, as it's going against the "it bag" police. My first Lanvin indeed arrived today with a few things , and #2 arriving tomorrow along with 2 Chanel exchanges. I think that should complete the collection I've been trying to put together for 6 months or so. I do have a couple of things on preorder, I am having some fun diversifying, and looking forward to checking out what is in Europe next week - Loewe and D&G and maybe some other "under the radar" bags. BUT to the initial point, I am surprised more ppl are not talking about and gravitating toward Lanvin. This is what came today, the black version arrives tomorrow.

Thank you! I can understand your feelings about the GG logo. I hate almost all logo bags, but really dig Gucci's 1973 logo and this one, which an SA told me was Gucci's original belt buckle. I also love the antique gold on this.

I have two Loewe bags, a yellow Flamenco and a bright red Barcelona, and I love them. The leather is amazing, and I love the vibrant colors. I suppose I pretend I'm a vivacious Barcelona-dweller when I wear them :). Here is a picture of my Flamenco --

BTW, I LOVE your Jiji! It is unusual and very beautiful--a great color/hardware combo. Congrats on your purchase!

Not sure I would include Fendi on the list. IMO, they have stayed pretty popular. Their Peek-A-Boo bags are very popular as well as their entire monster line. They also have relatively popular bags such as the 2jours, By the Way, etc. I think the brand that has had a major resurgence in popularity is Gucci. It started with the Soho Disco bag and they have an it bag recently with the Dionysus.

My eye has been drawn to some Tod's (I don't own one but their cross-T with the fringe tassels is cute). And I do not yet own a Lanvin bag. Clothing, yes, and the quality is unsurpassable. Anyone have any good opinions here? Anyone going against the "IT" trends but spending the same $$ on another designer? I think Lanvin bags are beautiful and thoughtfully made. I only know Lanvin of their perfumes. Some other bags I'd love to see more of are Valentino, Christian Louboutin, Cartier, but they're all more known for clothings and jewelry than their bags, which I think is a shame.
