^ It was actually when you mentioned on this thread that there are Kellys of all sizes, for sale, every single day in your boutique and these Kellys NEVER move that made me pause and think - wow where exactly is this store and why are the activities in your boutique and city so different from what others experience in the various countries.

My interest was further piqued when you said in your circle of wealthy Russian friends (the 2%, as I believe you described them) there has been no discernible impact of the recent economic crisis. Again, as many of us have either seen, read, observed or even heard directly from Hermes, this is contrary to what is happening.

When a (seemingly) consistent trend is bucked and someone shares that on this forum, that "unique" perspective or experience tends to stand out and be remembered (or it does for me anyway) hence my genuine curiosity of why things are seemingly so different (Hermes-wise and demographics-wise) where you are.

+1. I thought the very same thing regarding all of your major points, Leah.

Yes Kelly's are found in my store.I don't remember saying everyday which would be a bit odd as I don't frequent it that often . But whenever I do go, yes they do have Kelly's onhand. It could be cuz Im an old patron or a local. Who knows. I also don't recall saying it's available in every single size but I have seen them in several sizes. I do believe someone else said something to the effect of "oh it must be nice to have it available in every size or another". I didn't respond to that statement for obvious reasons.

I addressed the Russian statement earlier as I was genuinely concerned for their well being. They are my friends and family so yes if I hear economic doomsday on the radio, I have cause for concern. They reassured me it's not as bad as it seems.

I honestly don't know what to tell you. I hate lying. I don't care to be lied to and I follow by the "treat others as you would like to be treated".

Typically it's the opposite. At my Alaskan boutique, you never see a birkin on the floor unless it's diamond encrusted and croc (not gator).

Kellys you see everyday, any day, all sizes too. Those never move.

There do not appear to be any Hermes boutiques in Alaska. Perhaps this is some other type of boutique? There are stores that have Hermes products - Bergdorf, Cuffs, etc.

Alaskan is code for "local".

Alaska boutique is a code word that some Hermes forum members used years ago so they did not disclose their "home" boutique.

LOL! When I was in high school, someone told me they took the word gullible out of the dictionary. And my response was (not knowing what gullible meant), they can't take a word out of the dictionary! :lolots: Not quite the same here, but... Thanks for enlightening me, ladies. :smile1:

You're not gullible dear. It's a silly "ruse" when most people know generally where other long term members shop. It was done to protect the member from dozens of other tpf members calling the store, asking where THEIR bag is, why didn't they get one, etc. "My local store" is sufficient. But in this case, since the store appears to have an endless supply of unsold kellys, it wouldn't hurt to disclose it.

Haha, you aren't alone. When I first started reading this forum I thought it was so odd that so many people lived in Alaska. It took me a while to get it. :D

Ah well I'm mistaken. What I meant was that I see Kelly's every time at the store. And yes they're on the floor. I certainly don't go everyday. I wish I could but I cant.
^^THIS
Kelly's in store that never move:amazed:
Yes they're not that popular for whatever reason. Maybe this has changed. People usually wants Birkins.
Would love to know where this store is -- I'd be booking a ticket within minutes.
I would like to protect my store.

Now if everyone doesn't mind, I would like to go back to the original purpose of this thread - which is to discuss the 2015 price increase. If you want to take up further matters with me. You can do so via pm.

Now does anyone know the increase for Chile? I'm trying to help a dear friend acquire her first B or K there. And no I can't just get one at my store and ship it to her as she doesn't trust her postal system. Thanks.

I really don't see what the harm is in saying Alaskan. It's a matter of personal preference really. I picked up the lingo from other members when I joined this forum. And I can't help but notice that I'm the only one who is miffed for using it.

I've witnessed the staff at my store harassed relentlessly and unfortunately sometimes rudely by people asking for bags. Why would I in good conscience add to this? Im not on any way implying that the people in the latest chatter act in such manner. You can still access this forum publicly without being a member. You're more than welcome to pm me directly as many have regarding this matter. Thanks.
