Those are beautiful! Can you show us what else you have?

I love vintage/antique jewelry too, unfortunately the ones I like tend to be quite expensive, so I only have this one piece. It's a deco era ring and was a 'push' present from DH.

The center stone isn't big, but the small surrounding diamonds makes the ring a little more substantial.:smile1:
What a fabulous ring, Westiepup!

Glass& 14k solid gold bonsai tree...

Japster: I would love to see a close-up of that. It resembles something I bought in Hawaii years ago and subsequently sold (OK, was younger and stupider back then). And that 1940's pink gold necklace is to die for!! It must be wonderful to work with a variety of old pieces. I dealt in antiques for a while, and even though I couldn't keep them all, just to see them and be close to them (even if only for a little while!) was enriching.

Where do you find antique/vintage jewelry for sale?

Kat: antique shows and antique malls are great, as is eBay. I peruse all these venues regularly - you never know what you're going to find. It helps to have little knowledge in order to know when you're getting good value for your money. To learn more in general, I would suggest Warman's Jewelry by Christie Romero, and Answers to Questions About Old Jewelry by C. Jeanenne Bell. Both books easily found used for a few bucks.

I sold it to a friend of mine a couple months ago so I don't really have many close ups. except for what is still on my site:

japster- I love the chains you made for the two pendants! Do you mind sharing how you made them?
Sure. I hand wire wrapped stones inbetween the links. The elephant has faceted iolite roundels and the bonsai has round bloodstone.

i sadly dont have any antique jewelry, but i have jewelry from india, a lot of that from family members. the crown jewel is this thick gold necklace at least two inches with these blue stones, i have it in the bank, for years so i cant paint an exact picture for you, also this onyx one as well. so i guess i do have a jewelry collection, but personally i never liked indian jewelry, though my friends beg to differ :) so maybe in a couple of years i can sell my gold with usually either diamond, emerald, and mainly ruby (birthstone) for some antique pieces.

i LOVE those rings you girls posted, they're BEAUTIFUL im drooling right now. i have that elephant pendant, one in jade and i think one in onyx or another black, but how do you wear those?

It's costume jewelry, but the most amazing I have ever seen! I came across Joseff of Hollywood when I moved to Sun Valley in December. A high-end vintage clothing store in Ketchum has one of the largest collections of Joseff of Hollywood jewelry, and had a show of the full collection right around Christmas. Absolutely stunning! And now when I watch old movies, I always notice his pieces.

Here's a link to the store in Ketchum:
