Gorgeous! The emeralds seem to face up much larger than rounds. Maybe this is common knowledge but I'm always surprised by it. I can't imagine how huge a 4ct looks!

I can't wait to hear what you decide and to see what you choose! Both rings sound amazing! Thanks for the diamond info. I have to check into this. I have what i consider a nice diamond, 1 1/2 ct colorless, almost flawless, but it was a placer ring because i wanted a sapphire. I finally found a sapphire (4 years later) but the deal always was i'd give up my placer. Maybe now i should get an even better diamond instead??? Ugh!

Thank you! :hugs: I was involved in the process because my DF knows that I'm really particular in my jewelry and he wanted to make sure that I would love my ring. I'll say this just on TPF though, he likes to take credit for choosing the ring. :giggles:

I'm looking forward to seeing your reveal soon and trust me, you won't regret with going with HW. I hate to advertise, but the whole experience was excellent...from the beginning to the end (and I wasn't an easy one to work with).

HW is some of the very best quality BUT you can buy the same quality other places for 1/2 the price. Additionally I wanted my mounting made by some specific.

Just curious though, but I thought HW has a certain percentage of ownership in a diamond mining company? I wonder if they get direct access to their diamonds there?

Wow, Hermeaholic, your ring sounds gorgeous! do you have a pic of it!? Would love to see pics. Action shots perhaps on your beautiful hand? I agree that HW price is inflated. But for someone inexperienced with picking diamonds like myself, I guess I feel comfortable to go with their brand, to never have to question the quality, plus their service is truly phenominal. The service really got me, I'm a sucker for nice people in luxury brands!!! Their staffs are ALWAYS extremely nice and helpful. Don't find that in most luxury brand stores these days. Even Hermes, you know they can sometimes be arrogent and aloof with customers. Its a huge turnoff.

Well, let him take all the credit he wants, because you can just enjoy the beautiful ring and smile while starring at your baby EC! But what a thoughtful and caring DF you have though to care about your feelings and give you what you love! He did a good job to grant you your ultimate wish! Sounds like a great man who married a woman with great taste!

I just had my tennis bracelet checked (stones/metal) and replated. My jeweler gave me a new appraisal, too...went up 6k since I bought it, 6/7 years ago! YIKES!!!

Amazing! Seriously how did i not know this? Do i live under a rock? I did think last month when i was in the jewelry store the solitaires seemed a little high but had no idea... Now i'm second guessing my sapphire... But i've waited four years for her!

Trust me --I am not denigrating HW in any way. I just wouldnt pay the premium. That being said--I am a rock hound!
