With your attitude, Dear Buddha, you're only going to be wearing that $750 ring for a few years. This marriage won't last long.

Poor guy.

THAT was completely uncalled for, and definitely mean-spirited. DearBuddha has a legitimate concern, and is looking for others' input on a decision being made that concerns a considerable investment. She doesn't deserve a snarky remark like this.

personally i have both a plain band and a diamond band that goes w my ering. i like the plan one for working and cleaning and doing stuff i dont wont to wear diamonds for. if ur DH is willing to upgrade i would consider urself a lucky girl that u will have 2 rings

i think this is a great way to look at it. you can still keep the plain band, so that you will always have your original wedding band, and just have multiple bands! that in right now anyways.

maybe you could have them engrave something (the date, your names, etc) into the inside to make it more special. then you'll always have this one, but can get the blingy kind you crave as an anniversary gift, as others have suggested.

Hi ladies,
Just updating you. I did end up with the plain band, and truly, I love it! It wasn't what I expected when I was looking at bands online and in jewelry cases. Mine fits so well with my ring. It's clean and simple. My fiance surprised me on "mother's day" (we have a cat we refer to as our child) by telling me he's already ordered the ring I love for our anniversary. He's been so sweet to me. The funny thing is, is that I ordered him a plain platinum band for our first anniversary as well (he has a tungsten carbide band now, but he loves burnished platinum).

Also, thanks for the kind words, ladies. People like you make posting in a forum worthwhile, for both the input and the positive atmosphere. There are some haters, but by and large, you're all darlings, and I appreciate you.

Glad it worked out! It's nice to have multiple ring options - some days you can switch it up!
