I got the score of a deal, sample Madeline boots, even though I knew the calf area would probably be too small on me. I'm 5'4, about a size 12/14, 175#, and w. tree trunk legs. I sized up to a 9, and they still don't even come close to sliding on my stocky nubs. I've been telling myself I should be losing this baby weight and not alter them, but I'm starting to think that might not happen (if ever) until the babe gets older/weans--say, another year. Do I get the calves stretched/worked on, and how? Anyone have any experience w. doing this? I really want to rock them out this year, regardless of my size!

I've looked into it but never done it. Pricing varies but i've heard that depending on the boot you can get up to 2 extra inches. Good places should also have other ideas - adding elastic inserts etc if that doesn't work. I've read that the best way is to try them on and show them the problem areas and then have them stretch some and try on again beforeo final so that i really fits.
good luck,
