Can't they just book her on a 5150 again and actually like give full custody/whatever they do for adults to either her parents, siblings or just keep her at a hospital to normalize again? Or better yet just hire a caretaker... I just really feel for the poor girl..

I found this interesting:

Adult (patients over 18 years of age): The "objective finding that the person, due to mental disorder, is incapacitated or rendered unable to carry out the transactions necessary for survival or otherwise provide for her basic needs of food, clothing, or shelter." "Bizarre or eccentric behavior, even if it interferes with a person's normal intercourse with society, does not" meet this criterion, unless "where such behavior renders the individual helpless to fend for herself or destroys her ability to meet those basic needs for survival." [3] In theory, a mentally disordered person who is receiving sufficient care to survive disqualifies the individual from meeting the grave disability criterion.

So until she hurts herself or another, stops eating etc, she will be free to continue on

Amanda Bynes Confirms Engagement: 'I Am Getting Married'

Amanda Bynes has confirmed that she is engaged and will be getting married soon.
“I am getting married and my boyfriend and I are going to be on the cover People magazine,” the 28-year-old former actress tweeted. “Because although they have made up things about me before, they will omit any error they’ve made.”
The tweets came just minutes after she wrote about her plans to sue several tabloids that she says are writing lies. These magazines have published several “exclusive interviews” with her this week, which she claims not to have given.
One of the interviews is where Amanda reportedly first announced that she is engaged to a man named Caleb who is an aspiring actor that she met in rehab.

Costa Mesa is on my way home from work. I would be tempted to stop by this bait shop and look for this mysterious Caleb, but I don't want to feed into this side show.

Watching TMZ track her every move and just hoping for her to do something "insane" makes me so mad at them. I just hope her breaking point is something enough to get her institutionalized but something small enough that no one gets harmed. I think that's the best case scenario at this point.

As she continues to deal with the fallout from her recent DUI arrest, Amanda Bynes is also racking up a worrying list of new attempted theft accusations.

TMZ reports that the former child star was caught trying to take clothing out of New York boutique Pookie & Sebastian on Wednesday - just an hour before she 'tried to steal a hat from Barneys'.

According to the website, employees at Pookie & Sebastian followed the actress as she perused the aisles as they found her suspicious.

Amanda Bynes danced furiously in a New York clothing store before trying to pilfer a shirt ... and TMZ has the video.

If it were anyone else, it would be both fun and funny ... but in Amanda's case it's desperate. You see her inside Pookie & Sebastian browsing the racks before busting into some wild dance moves.

Amanda's burly driver got way more than he bargained for as Bynes did a full body search in the middle of the store.

TMZ broke the story ... Amanda tried a sticky finger move on a shirt Wednesday before a store clerk confronted her. A short time later, she was nabbed by security at Barneys for allegedly trying to steal a hat.

No one filed charges.

Amanda's life is in both danger and limbo ... we know her parents have not decided whether to go back to court and ask for another conservatorship. Absent that, the only thing authorities can do is place her on a psychiatric hold, but ONLY if she poses a serious danger to herself or others.

Wow 21 tweets in like 2 hours?? Someone I went to hs with did something similar on Facebook - just a rant of like 20 nonsensical posts. Her family was able to deactivate it fairly quickly, but it turned out she was doing some heavy drugs... Both really sad. Amanda said some really strange things though...
