OMG YES!!! Except I don't sleep in bed with them for fear of DH rolling over and crushing it. Instead I lovingly place it somewhere I can see the minute I wake up in the morning or when I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night [emoji16]

Most of things sound familiar to me too

I also sometimes:

have a 'display bag of the day/week/month in my living room or hall' (not the one I'm using, oh no, something too precious to use everyday or from my 'archive')

take old bags to see their 'family' when I know I'm visiting the 'family' store

I do the same display bag in my living room on my bench hahaha

I'm hoping at least someone out there does one of these things with new bags:

Use your new bag before you leave the store

Watch TV with your bag

Sleep with the bag on your bed

Invent reasons to take your new bag out

Stare aimlessly at the bag

Name your bags ( I don't do this because I can never remember names)

Warn people not to touch/use/come too close to your new bag, especially children which is kind of mean but if you spend a lot of money on it you need to be careful just like DH is with whatever new technology he just bought.

I do all of the above ... Sooo either we need to be going to some sort of meeting or something or it is totally normal and no need to be alarmed I am going with the the latter lol .. [emoji162][emoji162][emoji162][emoji162][emoji483][emoji8][emoji8][emoji8][emoji819]️

Not in the store, but a couple of times I have switched to my new bag in the car before leaving the parking lot!

I always keep my bag right next to me at home or at work in case I need something out of it, and on a shelf next to my side of the bed at night in case of a fire (not so much to be able to rescue the bag itself, but I would need the contents in an emergency).

Watch my cats closely to make sure they won't chew on it - certain types of leather seem "tasty" to cats, but not most leathers. One time one chewed through the strap of a new (thankfully cheap) bag before I even had a chance to use it!

I do call them by their names if the brand gave them one, like Selma (MK) or Speedy (LV), but I don't give them a name if they didn't come with one.

Yes, i've moved into new bag the car, in the parking lot. Too many times to count. Heck, if i don't feel impatient to move into a new bag *rightaway*, that's the sign to not buy it!

Pfffft, amateurs...parking lot, LOL! Often I switch into a new bag right there at the register before even getting out of the store. :lolots:

I actually like to let my bags ripen in my closet for a couple weeks. Weird I know but I'm a constant victim of delayed buyers remorse. I know I'm in love when I make frequent visits into my closet just to say hi to her (or him - yes I assign a gender to my bags). If I don't feel like saying hello at least 4 times a day it goes back.

Add to the list... Stalk purse forum for reasons to post pics of your latest baby.... For instance my - new to me - red Balenciaga town. If u look you will find it plastered all over PF :)

Well I am strange for sure because not only do I carry the latest bag over my right shoulder, I also rest my right hand on the bag just so I can touch it! Just caught myself doing it again, people in the street must think I am insane.

Oh I want a city so bad, I would do the same thing if I ever got one!!!

I do this, too...but it's to protect me from pickpockets.
The only odd thing I do (to my knowledge) is put several bags on bag hangers on the doors in my kitchen. From Hermes to MG...that way I remember what I have and force myself to wear them. Kind of a PITA when I have company...I hide them!
Cute thread!
