Am I the only one who absolutely hates the alhmabra design?

The design itself is very simple (which I like), but I could see why some people may find it overrated. Maybe for the price, some expect something more elaborate?

For me, it's a personal thing. As a young child, I remember drawing myself with a necklace that had a clover shape. I was also born in March so I feel like the Alhambra is almost a representation of myself in pendant-form.

Jewelry designs and designers are just like art in general. Some like the classic forms and other people like modern. I am not sure what you mean by "can’t deal with the design"? Where such strong feelings stem from? I fell in love with VCA 15 years ago for its classic looks and versatility and will be honest, I loved the "exclusivity factor" as well. I stopped buying VCA as everyone and their mother are wearing this brand everywhere and told my SA that I am only interested in SO.

I love the Alhambra line IF it’s not the single pendant MOP necklace or the 5 motif MOP bracelet. They’re so overdone. I find the design very feminine which I love, I don’t like Cartier because I find the design meanings weird and almost like a laugh in the consumers face. E.g. buying a bracelet which resembles a chastity cage or a bracelet which is “just a nail”… I also find that VCA uses higher quality materials than other brands? I know Diamond quality doesn’t matter with pave, but I think it shows that the brand is willing to put the best quality materials. Bulgari uses G - I diamonds, same with Boucheron, etc. whereas VCA uses DEF VVS diamonds on every item whilst the prices are similar with each brand

Our unique individuality shines through in our diverse tastes and preferences, and it's completely natural not to resonate with everything that captivates others. Whether it grows on you or not, that's entirely fine. Your choices are your own, especially when it comes to spending your hard-earned money on something you genuinely love.

Hey all, replying to this! Im not on the site as much as most people so I’m just now replying!

I want to start by saying this wasn’t meant to offend any of you VCA lovers! I simply wanted to start a discussion and hear opinions because everyone seems to love it and I just don’t like it! I should’ve said strongly dislike, but to me strongly dislike and hate are the same lol.

I also probably should’ve made it more clear that I don’t “hate” the whole brand I just strongly dislike the alhambra design!!

Also, I’m not a necklace or earrings person, I only wear bracelets, rings, and watches so that probably makes me a bit biased!
You see, even though the use of the strong word 'hate' has been used in your thread title on a well-loved design from a well-loved brand, almost all the responses are with a mild approach. Thank Goddess you have entered into a right forum when threads and posts have been regulated diligently and most members respect one another. There's no place for bullies here.

I have seen some forum where coteries and cliques are formed and opinions are discarded. Even though you are not replying to a specific member, you will still find some members indirectly responding to you but in a less friendly way. What's more, the matriarch is bound to say something to 'help' her friends in order to go against your point of views. There are so much hypocrisy and sarcasm and grudges which leave absolutely no place for opposing thoughts or opinions. Manipulating methods such as denial and gaslighting have been used to 'protect' their tiny group. Well, most of them think that the use of imitation design is fine for a particular company, what can you expect from them?

To answer your question, it's not the Alhambra motif that lures me into vca at the beginning. It's the colour of carnelian used in the effeuillage that caught my eyes and I went to the boutique and guess what, I walked out with the Alhambra MOP ring. As a beginner collector of vca, Alhambra motif was iconic design of the brand for me and it's a daily piece so I went for Alhambra ring. Now things changed a bit, I might not collect a lot of Alhambra pieces but I find them a nice touch when combined with pieces from other collections.

Enjoy your time in this forum. You have gotten a lot of helpful and friendly responses.

Hi all, am I the only one who hates van cleef? I can’t deal with the clover design I think it’s ugly honestly lol! I don’t get the hype, I see everyone talking about it and raving about it but I just can’t, I am a cartier gal!
I wasn’t super impressed by it at first. Now I’m hooked. I love it !!! More than Cartier haha !

I absolutely love the alhambra design, most of my pieces are alhambra. While its the most common collection most start out with VCA, it is also the most iconic. Much like Cartier love. I would hardly call the Alhambra Pave or Cartier Love Pave pieces entry level though. Lol.

I also love the perlee collection from VCa, the beads or pearl design is lovely.
