SA told me 50% off items purchased in store are final sales and can't be returned. How about 50% off items online? Can I return them?

My store treats 50% off items purchased in store as final sale as well, but I haven't tried returning an item from an online order yet. It might be worth giving them a call? The website does clearly state that anything in new condition can be returned.

That's total nonsense and I would definitely challenge any SA that tried to tell me that "50% off means no return". I have personally returned bags that were discounted 50% and more and it has never been a problem, as long as I had the receipt and had not exceeded the allowed number of days for a return.

Items that are sold as final sale are usually clearly marked to indicate that they cannot be returned or sent in for repair. Often the receipt is marked "FS" or "Final Sale" and there may be an additional discount (5%) given because the item was defective or damaged and sold as final.

And there are usually special markings stamped on the creed patch inside the purse that indicate a Final Sale. Sometimes the creed is stamped "FS" or sometimes it will be stamped with 2 "Bullet" marks showing that it was a final sale from the Outlet. And if the bag was sent to a discount store like Marshalls, it may be stamped with an "X" to indicate that it cannot be returned. See the pics below for examples of these markings.

i specifically asked my SA [after reading here that 50% wasnt allowed to return], whether i could return my rogue link-tote, which is more like 60 or 65% off; and he said no problem. but he's the same one who said i couldnt return the online orders in the store, that would have to be sent back to Jacksonville. go figure!!! clearly they're making things up as they go. so we the customers have to stand our ground

He's not the only one, nor is this the first time I've heard this.

I have had receipts stamped with FINAL SALE for 50% off items.

Nordstom will price match as well- I just bought the Delancey watch with the rexy charm for 50% off which I have been eying for a while. I prefer to shop with Nordstrom for online only because they are more reliable (I do not fear my order getting randomly cancelled as has happened many, MANY times in the past with Coach.com) plus the watches bought from Nordstrom arrive in super pristine condition.

Yeah coach.com cancelled an order I placed yesterday. I logged in to check today it says cancelled. I didn’t cancel it. I’m taking it as a sign I don’t need what I purchased & am not reordering. Both items were still available so it’s not like they ran out of stock. So random...

Thanks, katev!

There's a LOT of nice stuff on that sale, for a change. Nice deals on bags, and almost every style and color in wallets and wristlets.

"Lead me not into temptation... ", I can find my own way without any outside help! :-)

I agree I bout the primerose satchel in black and the signature double zip wristlet in black and the bag i purchase must be sold out but it is a good sale for a change glad I was able to purchase something.

That's just wrong, I would protest. What if you were buying the item as a gift?!
I believe @Melodyjj is Canadian like myself, so perhaps it's a country-specific rule? I wonder how things are handled overseas. I don't think it's fair that different rules are applied, but I guess that's how Coach does things. On top of the order fulfilment snafu where they put American orders first, I am kinda miffed.

It is so true- I have had orders cancelled on Coach.com so many times that I have lost track. And it is not just sale items either- for the kisslock bags, I missed out on the car/rexy carriage because they cancelled my order and the one I did find at the Coach store in NYC arrived damaged. I have had better success, in general, ordering from Bloomies, Nordies, Saks and NM. Plus, where I live in LA, it is easier to return to a dept. store than say Rodeo boutique with the parking, crowds, tourists, etc.

I do not think so unless you also consider LA a foreign country (which some do :)

Same situation here. I got my Dinky during 50% sale in store and they stamped FINAL SALE on my receipt.
I checked with SA. Discounted items(including 50% off) purchased on online can be returned in store. It sounds so cool for us Canadian customers. Yet I tried to return an online purchase this Thursday, instead of process the return/refund in store, they took over the bag and said they will ship the item to Jacksonville. So I will need to wait a few weeks untill they process the refund. It's really disturbing. btw I checked the delivery box, the item was shipped from a Canadian warehouse in Ontario. But the return will be sent to Jacksonville? I don't get it.

what if you exchange for another bag? will they give you in=store credit to buy a new bag? and then you can return it next week. just wondering.

I’ve returned online sale Coach items to two different Canadian Coach stores and have been refunded immediately from both. I returned a pair of boots yesterday that I recently odered for 50% online. I bought nothing from the store and they were friendly and courteous. They know me and brought us out water for while we looked around. It is not Canadian policy to hold refunds until items get back to Jax; I've been given immediate refunds at least three times and from different SAs without any problem at all.

The items I bought in the SAS this past summer were final sale; I was warned ahead of time and the bill was stamped to reflect that. No recent boutique slae items have been final sale; I assumed Coach had done away with that.
