Ali v. Shoulder Bag

WOW, Graberg! That hippie is REALLY PRETTY!!!! I LOVE how it looks cross-body!!! Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for sharing 
Do you think the shoulder bag is larger & holds more than the shoulder zip? If so, is the difference only in the two "pockets" w/turnlocks on the front that adds the extra space, or is it truely a bigger bag (inside the big part)? I am wondering b/c I have a shoulder zip and I LOVE it, but I also want a bigger bag when I need to hold a little more - that's why I want an ALI. But...if the shoulder bag is bigger, I may settle for that (when the time comes)
The Shoulder Bag is definitely bigger than the Shoulder Zip. The difference isn't only in the extra 2 front pockets with turnlocks that the Shoulder Bag has. The Shoulder bag has more room on the inside of the bag than the Shoulder Zip. It's a wider bag too.
Now if you want to compare the Shoulder Bag to the Ali, the Ali is WAY bigger. Lordy, my accessories are swimming in my Ali. LOL Honestly though, I really love both. I can post pictures of the bags together if you want to get a better idea of side by side size comparison.
sweetmelissa - I know you are worried that the strap is too short, but I wanted to make sure that you took out all the stuffing from the bag? Because when those puppies are stuffed with all that paper stuffing, there is no 'give' to the bag and the strap seems much more tight over the arm. Not sure if you tried it without the stuffing - but it may be worth a shot.

Thanks I will try this since I can't recall if I did it without stuffing or not-it's been a long week. The whole feeling of a football under the arm is one I'm trying to avoid. I so wish I could find the hippie in black, I adore it!! Thanks for the pics graberg! That just convinced me further that the hippie is really my favorite bag of the legacy ones.

Here are pictures of the Ali, Shoulder Bag, and Shoulder Zip side by side so you can get a size comparison. The Shoulder Zip is stuffed to the max with stuffing. LOL

How does the Ali compare to the Hippie size wise? (smaller I know but by how much?). What about the shoulder bag compared to the Hippie? Anyone know?
It depends what you like. Have you tried any of these bags on? I am loving the Ali, I just started carrying it this week and it is more "me" than the shoulder with pockets. I did try the hippie on in the store and I like the long strap. It is pretty roomy but I need a bit more room.

I did try both the shoulder bag and the Ali but I actually prefer a long strap. I just don't know if I will think the hippie is too small if I get it but I can't find one anywhere to try on (I've only seen them on ebay). I'm debating. The short strap of the shoulder bag bugged me, the Ali is better and way roomy.
The hippie is smaller than the shoulder. It's not quite as wide but not by much. I can carry everything in both bags. I like the shoulder's outside pockets for easy access to the cell phone but the hippie is easier to see inside because of the flap cover. In my mind, they are comparable and it depends on what you're wearing.
Ty. I just returned the shoulder bag for the Ali because of the short drop though I could fit everything into the shouder bag. Now I'm thinking maybe I should get the Hippie instead of the Ali...I'm so indecisive, it's terrible
I'll have to play with Ali a bit and see, she might be too big for me. I think I just really like the long strap styling of the Hippie. Oh well, I need dh's opinion but he won't be back until tomorrow 
I don't have a picture of myself wearing it, but the hippie is definitely smaller than the Ali. Since I don't own either the Ali or the shoulder, I can't truly compare, but I tried them all on in the store. I think the hippie and the shoulder hold comparable amounts, but the shoulder is shorter and wider while the hippie is slightly narrower and taller. I just like the silhouette of the hippie better.

Here's photos with the Hippie included (wallet is there for size reference). Those are the only Legacy bags I have so I can't do any more side by side comparisons. LOL
IMO, the Hippie has MUCH less room than the Ali. It's about 1/2 as wide as the Ali. I got the Hippie for days I won't be carrying very much and for things where I want to be hands free. My Ali though, I can put just about anything in that puppy. She's great!
