Zomg. I also bought the Rocco in Elephant! Looks gorgeous (don't have mine yet).

Anyone have advice about suede Rocco's? Any opinions on how to keep it in tip top shape besides a suede protector (yay, nay?) and keeping it out of the rain and snow?

I'm not sure if you mean your elephant Rocco, but it's not really suede. It's definitely a nubuck. But I guess most of the time the care/products are the same for suede and nubuck. it is beautiful though, great choice! You're in for a treat when it arrives; the leather is thick and plush and looks very expensive (as it should! ;). Glad to have a twin :)

No you're totally right! Nubuck for days. I've been traveling and was zonked when I posted. Look at that ridiculous apostrophe as well.

I haven't seen the elephant in person but did see the camel-like nubuck at Barneys and had to restrain myself. Grey shades are my thing (tho everything wang COULD be my thing so whatever). I want to keep this Rocco hot. I have lots of nubuck boots, but this is my first bag and I've been known to party hard. It could be dangerous.

hmmm... I do take good care of my bags. Im hoping AW fixed the problem. I wonder if the pebbled lambskin is better quality than the black washed lambskin.

I'd say the smoother leather bags are sturdier than the lambskin.. I'm pretty sure the smoother leather is not lambskin though. I had one of the first generation Rocco's with no long strap and the piping ended up wearing through because the lambskin was so delicate.

on the neiman marcus site, it says its pebbled lambskin. They only have the pale gold hardware though.

If the less pebbled bags are a lambskin, I'd say they are a MUCH sturdier lambskin than the pebbled version. They've reinforced the piping some more too. I've been more careful this time around but I also feel that the less pebbled leather is going to hold up better in the long run.
