that rocco is insane....i am obsessed with the wang rocco bag. i recently bought both the black pebbled leather and the black velvet laser cut leather, both with brass, to see which i liked better. i have received the laser cut one and am waiting on pebbled...the black velvet laser cut is beautiful but it does not speak to me the way the pebbled one does; it looks velvety though, and it feels kind of like suede. it is beautifully understated though, i liek how it is darker than the pebbled one. anyways, cant wait for pebbled!!!!

I'm new to purseblog so I don't know if this question has been asked or how this forum really even works.. but..

which would you prefer, the Rocco bag or the Louis Vuitton Speedy 35??

I'm having the hardest time choosing between the two! Since I'm going to be investing so much money in it, I want to use it forever and I feel like the speedy will be more worth it since it's a classic and the rocco is more of a trend???

Opinions?

honestly, my mom was about to buy the speedy 35 bag the other day and decided not to. she told me she thinks that it is nice and all, but it is boring and dated. i agree, it is a great bag, and if its what you like more, than you should get it. but it seems kind of boring and plain, even though it is a classic. a nice black rocco would be more of a unique piece, and it is also very versatile. but the speedy goes with everything too and is also veyr much of a classic. anyways, lol, its a tough question, but for me the rocco!!!

I used to have a watercolor speedy 35. I liked the watercolor print, but the size was a problem, it was just too big to be carried only on the crook of your arm. Also, I'm not a fan of the classic brown mono of LV, especially in bags.

My Rocco is still in the mail, so I can't speak for it just yet. But I'd like say that the LV Speedy may be a classic, but it's also really trendy right now and in my opinion will start looking dated quite soon. Having owned the bag I think it's really really overrated.

I just realized I'm really bashing the Speedy here :D But honestly, it's only my opinion. I think LV makes great bags, Speedy 35 just isn't one of them.

Thank you for your opinions! If I were to have any Louis Vuitton bag.. it would definitely be the Trevi PM but it's a whopping ~$1700! ..way out of my league. I'm just trying to work my way up the ladder. You're right, I agree the that speedy 35 is way overrated these days.. I see them everywhere.

I would love to get the black rocco bag but I'm just waiting on a sale. All I have right how is my Marc by Marc classic q natasha bag. hehe. I just bought a wallet for it too... :]

I was also between the Rocco and the Epi speedy 30, I picked the Rocco because there are way too many ppl with the speedy (fake and real), and I wanted something different. If your torn-buy both! They are similar sized bags with different personalities. Good luck!

I just checked Gilt a few minutes ago... wasn't really interested in the Swarovski LE Mini Rocco as a purchase for myself, but curious nonetheless.

I remembered to look about 10 minutes past noon (EDT), and they are already sold out!! The Gilt stock photos are very interesting, I can't tell if the crystal studs are black or if they are clear and just appear black due to the black leather. It's a cool look either way.

Not practical for me, though - I like my Roccos partly because I feel like, with the studded base, they are very sturdy and I can toss them around without worrying about damaging the bag. I'd be constantly worried about breaking a crystal stud if I bought the LE!!

I agree with what most of you all are saying about the speedy...it is overly trendy yet a classsic at the same time. however, like i said earlier, it does look dated and boring, and i agree that it is totally overrated. the basic black or luggage colour of the rocco, and the fact that it has a shoulder strap, makes it versatile yet keeps it cool and understated with the studs...let us know what you choose!!! i just received the new black velvet laser cut with brass and am waiting on the pebbled version to choose one. the blakc velvet is nice and it looks like suede and is darker it seems than the pebbled. i wiould say go for the pebbled!!! as soon as i opened the box to the velvet, i didnt have that feeling that i have everytime i look at a pebbled one :cloud9::love:
