Why is the black pebbled rockie with iridescent hardware so hard to find?
Speaking of iridescent.. What is that leather like? It looks really fun to handle.
I have a ?? on Rocco vs Rockie - particularly for you shorter ladies. I tried on the Rockie at NM a few weeks ago and thought it was a good size for my height (5'2") but now I find my eye wandering more to the larger Rocco, which I originally thought was almost like a duffel. Does anyone feel like it's overwhelming?
I ask because I tend to gravitate toward mini/cute bags and I probably need some larger ones too.
Hi everyone, thought I would introduce myself, I'm a lurker that has drawn so much advice from this forum. I'll give a brief introduction, I'm on my gap year after recently finishing school, I'm going travelling in a few months and to pay for it I've been working in a very high end store in London.
One of the best things about working for this shop is that we have a crazy good discount and I decided before I leave I would take advantage of the discount and buy my very first designer bag, all my others are either Topshop or River Island and I would love a special bag for when I start uni in October. Not knowing much about high end bags I originally had the intention of buying a Mulberry because it was a well known brand that was within my price range (even with the great discount I can't stretch to a Celine or a Givenchy).
But one thing I noticed was that there was almost a 1 out of 3 ratio of our customers that carry a mulberry and I suppose you can call it mulberry fatigue but I soon got tired of seeing them and in my mind they are a safe bag for middle aged women who aren't really out there to rock the boat. I thought about getting an LV, but again they're just everywhere and I don't particularly want a bag to scream "look at me I'm carrying a designer bag" and I just wouldn't feel special carrying a bag that is carried by so many others.
What I want from a bag is a bag that grabs attention without screaming designer, one that doesn't have to fall back on recognisable branding. That's when the Alexander Wang Rocco walked into my life. As soon as I caught a flash of rose gold studs hanging off a long limbed ever-so-cool fashionista I knew this was the bag for me. In my break I ran down to our handbag department, I just knew this wasn't a high street bag, and there it was.
I love that it's understated and yet eye catching with the studs, I love that I will usually only see one or two Rocco's during a shift at work, as opposed to 100s. Although I did see a lot more come in during London Fashion week. I love that if this bag was human it is the cool girl that knows how to get into all the coolest party, edgy and not try hard! I love the way it ages too, one thing I do not want is a pristine womanly bag, i much prefer the slouchiness and worn edges look of the Rocco.
Sorry for rambling on but that's my story, I'm going for the black with RGH. Is there anything that I should know before buying? Am I being crazy for going for the Rocco over a bag by a more established recognisable brand? Will I need to baby this bag?
