I'm glad I don't see any of the Ellen stuff. I'm sure they are good friends and nothing more, but those who are bored will find things to write about every time.

Re TB, I like all of the actors on the show, so while some of their stories bore me, I always feel bad when they don't make it. But yes, they've made the wolf crowd a real downer this year. Eric and Sookie will find their way, but for now I like the guy who is Warlow. He gives an entertaining interview and actually gives info in it, which is all good. I'd take five of him over more Lillith. But only if you promise more Sarah Newlin. Sadly, I don't think Alex will get to tangle enough with Anna Camp.

Oh man if there is one thing I am hoping for it's a Sarah/Eric showdown. I think Alex and Anna would rip that scene up...lol

Well there's a lot of angsty discussion and hate directed towards Warlow, and the actor who plays him. And maybe I'm just not that into all of that. I don't see the need. True Blood at it's best is angsty, campy, fun (and sometimes with a pointed social commentary). I've had to unfollow a heap of Tumblr blogs because the discussions were just getting out way out of hand.

In this Truebies opinion, there's a lot to be worked out before Eric and Sookie make moves towards each other. For now, I'm just along for the ride.

The only character that truly grinds on me (and not in a Magic Mike kinda way) is Alcide. Lose the werewolf storyline already. Seriously, I start to snore when they come on and only manage to stay awake because Sam's storylines are crossing over to theirs (and I like Sam Trammell as an actor).

Alex should have a few cracking emotional scenes tonight.

On another note; This Ellen/Alex thing is gaining legs. And. I. Just. Can't. I love Ellen, she's a great actress. This is not about her. It's just about how I want to :pokey: some websites.

I love that you can watch TB on a very superficial level, but if you really pay attention there are a lot of messages. But I think the casual viewer, and the occasional big media reviewer, gets annoyed with the message 'stuff' and wishes there was more naked people.

As for Alcide, I hope his storyline is at an end, there just doesn't seem to be a point to it. They don't have to kill him, just send him back to Mississippi. Or an oil rig job in Alaska.

And yes, I think that Alex will have some emotional scenes coming up, and not just this episode.

Santress - thanks for all the fan pics. We had a week of no Skars, but now he's back in civilization and you're on top of it.

Got to say, despite all the hoo-ha going on over Sookie and Warlow.... I'm just really enjoying the fact that I don't know where True Blood is going this season. I used to enjoy all the dissection, and I do still enjoy a guessing game on future plots, but as far as "the ship" (ie Eric and Sookie) I think any kind of return to their relationship of previous seasons is just so far in the future...that it's wise (IMO) to just sit back and let the fun unfold.

I do think we'll see another character bite it tonight.

This

It's getting very angsty in Tumblr-land.
The one death that will probably happen tonight doesn't surprise me, I actually didn't think this character would survive last season's finale.

They promise a lot of deaths every year, and technically they're correct, but it's usually extras or someone totally insignificant. Maybe this year they'll actually pare characters and storylines.

But I like that it's all sort of up in the air, I think maybe having only 10 episodes and a new showrunner from episode 3(?) onward has forced them to refocus on the basics.

As for E/S shippers, since we know that there will be a S7, if that's who the writers want her to end up with, they're not getting back together this season, it'd kill the suspense.

I'm OK with this. I'm really enjoying this season. TB has gone off the rails with their story lines so if E/S don't end up together I'm OK with it as opposed to the books where everything was pointing to a possible E/S end game and it didn't.

Campy TB is the best.

Re: Ellen/Alex. This is happening in some alternate universe - Inception wise - but no, no, no.

Alcide is a douche this season (sorry, Mik) and I use his scenes for my bathroom break if needed.

Sarah Newlin is one of my favorites this season. She is bringing it big time. As I mentioned earlier, I am loving this season. Definitely one of the best in the last few years. Not missing AB as show runner at all.

Give the man an Emmy!!! Im sobbing right now. Everything hurts.

*Some how there was a link of the episode online 1hr before it was meant to play someone at HBO is being naughty for leaking spoilers*

I need someone at HBO to release the rest of the episodes left right now.

I love Sarah, I think Anna Camp has been having a blast. Sadly, I suspect that she might not make it out of this season. Steve might not either. Question is, how do they die?

ETA: @sydneygirl, I don't know if HBO is screwing up, or doing this deliberately, leaking the episodes. But since they probably have them edited and done, release them! Then we can binge-angst!

ETA: Alex and Emmy: Sadly, TB doesn't get Emmy acting love, not anymore. But the reality is, with few exceptions, the TB actors are pretty darn good. They have to be, to pull this off.

ETA: Perhaps it's a good thing that Alex is in Iceland (and doesn't read about himself online anyway), what with the Ellen BS and the Tumblr reactions to what's happening with Eric. l

I didn't mind the were story in S3, but they've made it so boring since. I like Rob K, I think he's really into playing Warlow and he's picked up the TB habit of trolling the viewers. Warlow as a character, I don't trust at all.

I'd love an Eric/Steve/Sarah showdown.

I need someone at HBO to release the rest of the episodes left right now.

I saw a link on Xfinity to watch the ep before it aired, so not sure if HBO screwed up or not.

Here’s my recap without (hopefully) giving away any spoilers:

I am really liking Willa. She’s Pam v.2.0. Eric chose well.

Sam story line needs to be over.

Aww, Jason/Jessica. I love Jason: Stockholder Syndrome.

Sam story: Yeah, really over. I guess he’s fulfilling the sex quotient for the show.

Alcide: bathroom break.

I really love Jessica. I’m liking James, too.

Desperate Eric – my heart breaks. Do whatever needs to be done.

“Holy F*ck”

Layfayette: next to Jason – best lines.

Who is Sookie going to choose?

Really love Pam’s therapy session. Really.

Jason, NOOOO.

Alcide: 2nd bathroom break.

Eric: Rooftop redux., then flashback – better wig than S1 and again rooftop redux.
Someone’s pissed.

Great Led Zeppelin song for this ep.

I do not even want to think about where Eric will go now - it is going to get very nasty I suspect. Oh that Sarah Newlin is so wicked - cold blooded. Do hope Eric is the one to finish her off!

Yes Willa is perfect Eric progeny - did not like her character in the beginning but she is proving to be a welcome addition. As usual Pam and Jessica were great.

Who does like the werewolf story line? It really seems dull compared to what is going on with the vamps. Alcide should take up his Daddy's offer and go farm.

Can't believe there are only 3 episodes left. So much to resolve before seasons end. Agree that Sookie and Eric are not getting together this season. A lot of anti-Warlow sentiment from people - but I kind of feel sorry for the character - unwilling vamp - alone for millennia - yearning for the Sookie - and everyone just wants his blood. Poor baby.

I think Warlow is going to have the mother of all tanties, we haven't yet seen the nasty side but we will - and Eric is going to care greatly who Warlow is. I'm hoping Sookie doesn't do what I think she's going to do.

And Eric is just going to slay everyone. Look out - the Sheriff is back :death:

Alex is going to have some brilliant scenes in the next few episodes.

Note: If they can give the vamps Hep V, why oh why can't they give the werewolves some super-rated form of Parvo?

I'm beginning to like Willa a lot.

I don't think they intend to resolve them.

I don't feel sorry for Warlow at all, but he's very, very good at manipulation.

I think Rob K has referred to Warlow as a big baby, I think that's going to turn out to be fairly accurate. A murderous, selfish, sociopathic big baby.

I'm thinking Russell levels of grief for Eric, and without the perverse fun we had with Russell ripping out a newscaster's spine.

I'm wondering/hoping that they're doing away with the were story, I'm reading where Joe has said a lot of Jackson/Alcide scenes have been cut. I'm thinking that having Buckner has a show runner really did mean they're finally cutting out/reducing storylines.

The new showrunner for True Blood, Brian Buckner, said at ComiCon this year that
they will reduce the storylines in True Blood and that he thought the show
is ultimately about relationsships between vampires and humans and the small town they live in. They are going to concentrate the show to one story and one threat.
He answered to a question at the panel and the audience seemed very pleased with the answer.
