My bad. I read something quickly and don't even remember where I saw that, so I can't go back and check. Maybe I was just projecting (Ireland = Iceland) and hoping the brothers could spend some time together.

They filmed last year in Ireland, but per this snippet from this article, it'll be Iceland this time:

"Season 2 will now begin to shoot in Iceland this summer. Hopefully we will see much more of this compelling series very soon."

http://www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/18068/20130605/vikings-season-2-release-date-history-channel.htm

However:

"After auditioning well over 1,000 people in Wicklow Town, the producers of the TV show 'Vikings' will be holding further casting calls in Dublin tomorrow and Friday.

The programme is looking to hire around 5,000 paid extras for the filming of the second season.

Filming starts at the end of this month and will go to the end of November."

So they're probably still filming in Ireland. Which doesn't rule out a location shoot in Iceland, or that Gustaf would be hiking for a week with Alex.

I agree with all of you. I think this was his best/most relaxed interview, yet. He just talked entertaining anecdotes which is what is expected on these shows. We'll also get more pictures next Tuesday when TB premieres at ArcLight. He's off to Iceland after that and we'll be in Skarsdrought for a while I imagine. I did see somewhere that Vikings is starting to film in Iceland later this month or next, so he might have a chance to hang out with Gustaf.

I thought Vikings filmed in Ireland? If it is Iceland - maybe that is why he is going - to hook up for some quality brother time?

They'll also shoot in Ireland according to Gustaf. He said he'll be going there this summer. I guess Iceland is a location shoot but the majority of the show will be shot in Ireland in studios and stuff.

Vikings is in part a production of the Irish Film Board - I think the Canadian Film Board too. Maybe - someone got Ireland and Iceland confused? Especially since most people would think Iceland and Vikings? But that doesn't mean a brother bonding trip could not occur.

I have a friend who works for the Irish Film Board and has been peripherally involved - LOL - she said the cast appreciates some features of Irish culture very much - namely - the pubs.

I love the show - and Gustaf is great in it - first thing I have ever seen him in.

I wonder if the Viking film AS was supposed to be involved with is still a go? Seems with the popularity of this show that it demonstrates there is a lot of interest in viking stories - especially a Skarsgaard Viking movie!

Yep, Gustaf said they really loved going on pub crawls. But he also liked the Irish mentality in general, how they work on set and the swearing. He loves that. I guess the Irish nature agrees with him.

and the swearing

LOL - I have family in Ireland - I love to visit! The Irish are great story tellers and very friendly/warm people with a very wicked sense of humor. But their use of the F word is a bit shocking - as in every other sentence! Respectable old ladies even say it.

AS and Ellen will be appearing on 6/8 at 3 San Fransisco theaters to promote The East - envy you if you live there and can catch them.

The gift of the gab. They talk themselves out of anything. :p
And I wouldn't say the swearing is solely reserved to the Irish. As soon as I switch to English my level of swearing goes up too. But on the other side I'm not shy using swear words in my own language either so ... :amuse:

So I got my EW today and of course I got the Dexter cover. Sigh. I read the two articles about TB S6 and I'm not all that excited about what's happening. I'm worried that instead of 10 min/episode of Eric, we'll be down to even less. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Here's a link to the two articles:

http://www.trueblood-online.com/brian-buckner-bill-and-sookie-will-always-hold-the-center-the-show/

Dexter is the cover, but there should be the two other bonus covers right after it, at least there are with mine.

TB still has higher viwership/ratings than either Dexter or Breaking Bad but isn't getting the attention it used to, it seems. Though I note that EW used an Eric bonus cover and not a Bill bonus cover.

Sorry, this is totally of topic but a little special:
There will be famous guests I suppose, so if you like a little glamour in your everyday life :smile1:
Today is the princesswedding here in Sweden. Princess Madeleine is marrying Chris O´ Neill.
Chris was born in London, but now lives in New York where he met the princess (so I read somwhere in a tabloid).
The media is full of storys about the upcoming wedding. It will be broadcasted in national-TV channels (SVT).
If you´re intrested you can whatch it on the web also. SVT is the best site but the tabloid
Aftonbladet also has a big coverage of the wedding.
