It was Alex best talkshowapperence so far that I´ve seen.
They were so funny talking and the sidekick too. I laughed so much watching them.
The story about Stellan being nude and cooking was hilarious. :lolots:
I wonder what Stellans response to this will be? :D

(Alex first time on Jimmy Fallon Show was also great).

^^ I think Stellan is going to send him to his room for about 150yrs after that. :lolots::lolots:

Oh yes! :)

But it was a good interview, I think it went well. So hopefully at some point he'll feel comfortable making a return appearance.

Also, Conan is listed as six foot four. I know that Alex was in front of him and never truly stood next to him, not like Alex did with Michael Strahan, but Alex seemed to have at least an inch over Conan.

As for the EW 'bonus' cover: I was hoping for a new article/photo shoot from EW, since they've done that the last three years, but it looks like not this year. Oh well.

Here's the full video. I can't get it to embed, it's a vimeo. Enjoy, this is a great interview.

Wow! That was actually quite a funny interview. I guess it helps when he doesn't have to repeat all the old stories again and again. Conan always manages to tickle out some spontaneous responses from his guests that are not as stiff and scripted as on other shows.

Thanks, Free.:smile1:
I really liked the interview too.
They all seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Nice story about meeting Alex last night:

ST Bende’s Story: The Day I Met Ull - I mean, Alexander Skarsgard

This actually happened.
I’m SO EXCITED!!!
It’s no secret that I picture Alexander Skarsgard when I think of Elsker’s Norse God of Winter, Ull. He’s tall. He’s gorgeous. He’s Swedish. He’s a great dresser. I mean, what’s not to love?
So when my uber-awesome and crazy-well-connected friend told me Skarsy would be a guest on Conan, I grabbed a copy of Elsker and a pen, obsessed over what shoes to wear (I went with four inch nude heels), took a slightly insane journey, and crossed my fingers.
And then this happened.

ULL SIGNED MY BOOK!
He pointed to the title and said, “That’s Scandinavian.” And I nodded like a bobblehead. Because when your imaginary character comes to life in the form of Alexander Skarsgard holding your very own book that you kind of wrote about him, you have no words.
And then he said, “Ah, love.” (Elsker means love in Norwegian, which is like kissing cousins to Swedish.) And I nodded again and maybe babbled something incoherent about it being about mythology or something that betrayed my very clear blondeness and ginormous crush.
Some more words were exchanged (spoken words on his part, howler monkey like squeaks from me), and then ULL SIGNED MY BOOK! He wrote “Love,” then drew an arrow to “ELSKER” and signed his name.

(See that little arrow he drew from “Love” to “Elsker”? He’s so cute!!!)
And bless my heart, I didn’t fall over. Victory! My goal for the encounter was to not fall over. Being charming or witty or even just coherent was obviously going to be out of my reach.
It was hands down, without a doubt, one of the very best days ever. I honestly don’t know how things could possibly get better than this.
And having just met Ull/Vampire Eric, and being on the lot and all, Elsker and I made one more stop. We swung by Merlottes, where I tried not to weep openly at being in the very spot where Sookie Stackhouse and the extremely good looking Vampire Eric play.

A HUGE thank you to the VERY awesome guy who made this happen. I. Love. You. And I will bake you waffles every single day for the rest of your life.
And so my lovely friends, I beseech you to please, please, please go to the NA Alley Crush Tourney and vote Ull/Elsker for your crush. Nominations are open through June 10th, and I would be beyond stoked if you’d help land Ull a slot in the first round. After all, who’s more crush-worthy than a Norse god who happens to look like this cutie pie?

Did I mention HE SIGNED MY BOOK???
Squee!

Nice story about meeting Alex last night:

Thanks, Santress .The second picture. She's so excited while he's signing the book. I love it. Last night's Conan was the perfect line-up for me.

This is a nice story from the Q&A at the East screening (June 1, 2013) :smile1:

Meeting Alexander Skarsgard! Jack Catches A Screening Of The East With A Q And A… When The Women Go Wild! Eric Northman Madness! Autographs! Photos!

by Jack on Jun 2, 2013 • 3:12 pm

Last night I saw the movie “The East,” which stars Brit Marling, Ellen Page and a certain vampire from Bon Temps, Eric Northman a.k.a. Alexander Skarsgård. The film is about eco-terrorism and is a fantastic thriller worth checking out. I strongly suggest checking out this awesome movie. During the past three days I have seen the film twice and attended two different Q&A’s with select cast, meeting two of three principle actors. After meeting Ellen Page on Thursday I decided to head out and attend a screening with Alexander Skarsgård as I really wanted to support the film.

Honestly, the way Q&A’s have been going it’s getting less worthwhile to attend so I didn’t know what to expect. Once again, the film held up well and suddenly a “random blogger” was pulled up during the intro for the Q&A. As it turns out, she created a tumblr for the film and was permitted to ask the first question in the moderator’s chair. That’s when the director and Alex were introduced. Although the girl needed help to ask a question, the Q&A was pretty entertaining. However, the real fun started once the Q&A ended.
A woman immediately approached Alex as he was leaving for a picture, but security started escorting him out. Not knowing if he wasn’t “taking pictures” I approached him by a railing during his exit and asked politely for his autograph.

“Let’s do it outside. I promise to sign out there for you. Let’s just clear the theater.”True to his word, Alex exited the theater and started taking pictures with dozens of women. At one point, he was literally engulfed by women with security nearby.
Even though there were a handful of people trying for autographs, women of all ages, shapes and sizes were squeezing their way by people to get a picture with him. Even on several attempts by security, Alex told him he wanted to meet his fans.

After taking a couple dozen photos literally outside our theater, Alex moved closer to the concession stand to take even more pictures. I seriously debated about getting a pic with him, but some of these women were pretty aggressive. So much so people’s flashes were ruining pics taken and jockeying for positions. Still, Alex took it all in stride and was smiling the entire time.
Once again, security tried to “get him to leave,” but Alex reassured him he wanted to stay. Eventually I caught a break in between photos and asked him to sign my True Blood Season 5 DVD in red (Yes, Mike I know a big NO NO)
Then another two people had photos to get signed and I asked him to personalize my “Entertainment Weekly,” which he gladly did.
I thanked him and pushed my way away from the crowd. He was still there taking pictures and accommodating various fan requests a few minutes later. Wow, that’s really impressive!

Honestly, Alexander Skarsgård went above and beyond tonight. I don’t know too many A-list TV stars, who would be so cool with a hundred plus fans wanting his autograph and/or pictures in a movie theatre lobby. Putting his arms around so many adoring fans and signing autographs in these circumstances was unbelievable. The fact he told security “let me be” and “I want to meet my fans” multiple times shows what a class act he is! Once again, thank you Mr. Skarsgård for being so classy and amazing to all your fans tonight! You rock! Until the next time, happy autograph hunting!

This photo: :D

I'm glad to keep reading these first person accounts of how he is still willing to spend time with his fans. Some people complain that he's gone Hollywood, but he still takes time to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans. He also doesn't show up for photo shoots with a whole entourage based on reports I've read. He might be a little Hollywood, but there's still South Stockholm Alex in him.

I liked his Conan appearance but I wish he could have finished his Gustaf story. He really seems to gravitate to quirky and/or funny personalities. Seemed to really dig Conans sidekick Andy, even gave him a little wink at the end.

Here's the full video. I can't get it to embed, it's a vimeo. Enjoy, this is a great interview.

I agree with all of you. I think this was his best/most relaxed interview, yet. He just talked entertaining anecdotes which is what is expected on these shows. We'll also get more pictures next Tuesday when TB premieres at ArcLight. He's off to Iceland after that and we'll be in Skarsdrought for a while I imagine. I did see somewhere that Vikings is starting to film in Iceland later this month or next, so he might have a chance to hang out with Gustaf.

She's adorable in that pic. Also, it's a great handporn shot, because that's not a small book, and yet his hands are so very, very large.

I think he enjoys the material things in life, but has managed to maintain some sense of humbleness-trying to sign autographs for everyone, no entourage, no bodyguard*, etc.

*Though maybe he can hire Andy Richter to protect him from the women who want him to bite them.

ETA: As for Iceland, I'm jealous, I want to go, I want to see all the waterfalls!

He'll need Andy since he jokingly said he likes aggressive women. Don't even want to imagine what can of worms that'll open.

In other words - he has nothing to go home to.

I agree he is still a pretty decent guy - he also seems to be really enjoying his life. I thought the Conan show was very good - the best part for me is when he said "this isn't going very well is it?" - great sense of humor.

I thought Vikings filmed in Ireland? If it is Iceland - maybe that is why he is going - to hook up for some quality brother time?

My bad. I read something quickly and don't even remember where I saw that, so I can't go back and check. Maybe I was just projecting (Ireland = Iceland) and hoping the brothers could spend some time together.
