Thanks, Free.
I really liked the interview too.
They all seemed to be having a lot of fun.
Alex + George R.R. Martin = Must Watch for Me.
Nice story about meeting Alex last night:
This is a nice story from the Q&A at the East screening (June 1, 2013)
Meeting Alexander Skarsgard! Jack Catches A Screening Of The East With A Q And A When The Women Go Wild! Eric Northman Madness! Autographs! Photos!
by Jack on Jun 2, 2013 3:12 pm
Last night I saw the movie The East, which stars Brit Marling, Ellen Page and a certain vampire from Bon Temps, Eric Northman a.k.a. Alexander Skarsgård. The film is about eco-terrorism and is a fantastic thriller worth checking out. I strongly suggest checking out this awesome movie. During the past three days I have seen the film twice and attended two different Q&As with select cast, meeting two of three principle actors. After meeting Ellen Page on Thursday I decided to head out and attend a screening with Alexander Skarsgård as I really wanted to support the film.
Honestly, the way Q&As have been going its getting less worthwhile to attend so I didnt know what to expect. Once again, the film held up well and suddenly a random blogger was pulled up during the intro for the Q&A. As it turns out, she created a tumblr for the film and was permitted to ask the first question in the moderators chair. Thats when the director and Alex were introduced. Although the girl needed help to ask a question, the Q&A was pretty entertaining. However, the real fun started once the Q&A ended.
A woman immediately approached Alex as he was leaving for a picture, but security started escorting him out. Not knowing if he wasnt taking pictures I approached him by a railing during his exit and asked politely for his autograph.
Lets do it outside. I promise to sign out there for you. Lets just clear the theater.True to his word, Alex exited the theater and started taking pictures with dozens of women. At one point, he was literally engulfed by women with security nearby.
Even though there were a handful of people trying for autographs, women of all ages, shapes and sizes were squeezing their way by people to get a picture with him. Even on several attempts by security, Alex told him he wanted to meet his fans.
After taking a couple dozen photos literally outside our theater, Alex moved closer to the concession stand to take even more pictures. I seriously debated about getting a pic with him, but some of these women were pretty aggressive. So much so peoples flashes were ruining pics taken and jockeying for positions. Still, Alex took it all in stride and was smiling the entire time.
Once again, security tried to get him to leave, but Alex reassured him he wanted to stay. Eventually I caught a break in between photos and asked him to sign my True Blood Season 5 DVD in red (Yes, Mike I know a big NO NO)
Then another two people had photos to get signed and I asked him to personalize my Entertainment Weekly, which he gladly did.
I thanked him and pushed my way away from the crowd. He was still there taking pictures and accommodating various fan requests a few minutes later. Wow, thats really impressive!
Honestly, Alexander Skarsgård went above and beyond tonight. I dont know too many A-list TV stars, who would be so cool with a hundred plus fans wanting his autograph and/or pictures in a movie theatre lobby. Putting his arms around so many adoring fans and signing autographs in these circumstances was unbelievable. The fact he told security let me be and I want to meet my fans multiple times shows what a class act he is! Once again, thank you Mr. Skarsgård for being so classy and amazing to all your fans tonight! You rock! Until the next time, happy autograph hunting!

I liked his Conan appearance but I wish he could have finished his Gustaf story. He really seems to gravitate to quirky and/or funny personalities. Seemed to really dig Conans sidekick Andy, even gave him a little wink at the end.

I loved the interview!!!
talking about his dad made me laugh so much.
It was Alex best talkshowapperence so far that I´ve seen.
They were so funny talking and the sidekick too. I laughed so much watching them.
The story about Stellan being nude and cooking was hilarious. :lolots:
I wonder what Stellans response to this will be?
(Alex first time on Jimmy Fallon Show was also great).
Oh yes!
But it was a good interview, I think it went well. So hopefully at some point he'll feel comfortable making a return appearance.
Also, Conan is listed as six foot four. I know that Alex was in front of him and never truly stood next to him, not like Alex did with Michael Strahan, but Alex seemed to have at least an inch over Conan.
As for the EW 'bonus' cover: I was hoping for a new article/photo shoot from EW, since they've done that the last three years, but it looks like not this year. Oh well.
Wow! That was actually quite a funny interview. I guess it helps when he doesn't have to repeat all the old stories again and again. Conan always manages to tickle out some spontaneous responses from his guests that are not as stiff and scripted as on other shows.
Thanks, Santress .The second picture. She's so excited while he's signing the book. I love it. Last night's Conan was the perfect line-up for me.
I'm glad to keep reading these first person accounts of how he is still willing to spend time with his fans. Some people complain that he's gone Hollywood, but he still takes time to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans. He also doesn't show up for photo shoots with a whole entourage based on reports I've read. He might be a little Hollywood, but there's still South Stockholm Alex in him.
She's adorable in that pic. Also, it's a great handporn shot, because that's not a small book, and yet his hands are so very, very large.
I think he enjoys the material things in life, but has managed to maintain some sense of humbleness-trying to sign autographs for everyone, no entourage, no bodyguard*, etc.
*Though maybe he can hire Andy Richter to protect him from the women who want him to bite them.
ETA: As for Iceland, I'm jealous, I want to go, I want to see all the waterfalls!
