Happy Birthday, Squirrel! :smile1:

More about the boxing photo shoot which was for M Magazine[/B].
The guy who runs this tumblr lists his name as Jim Windolf.
According to this twitter, he's "a writer for Vanity Fair and other publications, senior editor at M, visiting prof at Wesleyan University."

Is this another magazine where I'm going to have to buy it off of EBay?

And sadly, it doesn't sound like he was very forthcoming in this interview. Not that I want him to spill his guts, but with the better interviews he does tend to open up a bit.

ETA: This is the photographer's website:

Thank you Santress!!

And re the article, funny how he confirms Tarzan...

Wow! This is interesting news. :woot:

I´m so excited about the Tarzan film. If the man is right then it´s great.
I think the Tarzan movie is going to be very different from the other Tarzanfilms made (if the gossip that I heard is true). I can only hope everything works out well.

and Happy Birthday Squirrel! :smile1:

He's done so in at least a couple of the interviews in the last month, though he didn't get this specific.

So Tarzan isn't dead, it's just resting?

I'm hoping this Tarzan is a good, non-cheesy, fun little adventure.

And to be honest, no loincloth, that would be cheesy.

Thanks, Buckeye.:smile1:

Here is the full set. I've never heard of the mag either.

Somebody posted the above shot on Tumblr earlier saying it's a behind-the-scenes shot of Alexander Skarsgard for a photo-shoot for some magazine - obviously I was only half paying attention. But I half paid enough attention to realize that this very magazine (called M) had weirdly just come in with the mail in my office this afternoon! So I just ran and snapped a few pictures of the photos with my camera and here they are, in all their (shoddy, cammed) glory. I'm sure someone more professional like will scan them in nicely but until then...

I'm going to presume it's this magazine:

Move over, GQ and Details: M mag is back

Conde Nast, which has been largely absent from the world of launching magazines since its $100 million flop with Portfolio, is returning to the start-up game next week...

M last appeared as a magazine in 1992, when it folded in the wake of the early ’90s recession.

Other than the resurrection of the name, the new magazine doesn’t have much in common with the old M or its successor M Inc.

For one, the cover is heavy matte stock. Kaplan says it is the same paper that Henry Luce used to launch Fortune. Inside, there’s glossy stock and heavy print. The idea is to serve up a brawny magazine...

Alex and black leather jackets appears to be a theme at the moment. I like the shoot. I liked his hair for WMK but there is a slightly Bieber-esqueness to it the last two shots which I can't unsee.

Having said that, I like the whole vibe of the set. I'm used to seeing beaten up, good bodies when I watch my other half spar. This takes it up another level.

Thanks for the photos and links gals.

Squirrel, I hope your day is as delightful as all these wishes of Gandy, booze,Skars cake, and Ser Jaime presents suggests ;)

The non-boxing hair is a little ... wrong, but I do like the pulling on of the gloves and the tease of heavage.

It's not pretty-boy Skars, and I like that.

you all are so impressive with the embedding images and stuff - I must begin practicing. Happy B-Day Ms. Squirrel!

I am thrilled that Tarzan is still on - next summer he said? Plus - there are something like 25 Tarzan books - so I say - lots of sequels. Plus it really isn't cheesey - it gets that rep from the old H Wood versions. If you check out "Greystoke" you'll see a contemporary movie of T man that is decidedly not cheesy. In the books he becomes so disillusioned with western society that he and his wife Jane move to a vast estate in Africa from which his many adventures are based. The character is also very athletic and very ethical. I think this will be perfect for AS and you know the reward for doing a successful franchise film is that you get to do the dramatic stuff you want.

I do not get the whole fantasy photo shoot sort of thing - unless a boxer beat up AS suits the image of the magazine?
