Zola, thanks for the article, much appreciated..not loads of new stuff, but interesting that he sounds more settled in LA every time he talks about it now. And no way is that 50 pounds...

Yeah, I thought that too, he does seem more settled and happier with his LA life - the **** you money probly helped ;)

The Feature "Hidden" with Alexander Skarsgard will wrap up production around Vancouver September 18th. #HollywoodNorth.

That's interesting tku. Love your new avi :p

"Star" sensationalising/making something out of not much? Get outta here!

He lost enough for it to be noticeable on his lanky frame...but 50 pounds? Nope.

That never happens!

Watching, re-watching, pausing, and re-winding Generation Kill is never a waste of time ;) And, as if you needed any encouragement, :hugs:

Generation Kill - "It's Nice Having Friends.
Uploaded by hordak27 on 15 Jan 2010
A short scene from episode 2 of Generation Kill, where Brad recounts on how great it is that he, his ex-fiance and her partner are "all still friends"

As my internet hamsters seem to be rebelling :pokey: here's a link

You're really pushing this Chicago thing aren't you. I think the guy deserves some fun and should try Barcelona or say Milan. Wait a minute, the shock would probly kill him ;)
And yeah if Skars had lost 50 lbs he'd have made Christian Bale, (Machinest), look positively rotund ;)

I agree, and think it was possibly a 'mis-hearing/transcription error' - 50 for 15 :hrmm:

I still am amused by the fact that in the book the Brad As Airplane scene Brad actually only stripped down to his t-shirt.

And I still love the 'Brad got dumped' scene. Evan Wright remembers BC visiting the studio when they were editing that scene and BC got very mad. But, it was in the original RS article. It humanized him.

Yes, I'm pushing Chicago! It's 'home', always will be, even though I don't live there anymore. I think he'd like it, energy, walkability, culture, etc.

I never knew that the rl Brad was cross about the 'Brad got dumped scene' guess it went against his macho sensibilities and agree it did humanize him. We're all different sides of the same coin, and I thought that rl BC vid you posted showed some of those facets perfectly :smile1:

And yeah, we all love and are extremely proud of 'home' :smile1: (even if we no longer live there), and would show Alex round :smile1: Any time ;)

eta: Have just re-read my previous post, I meant Barcelona or Milan as in their football/(soccer) clubs, not that they aren't both beautiful cities

Ok, going back and re-reading the EW interview it's more embarressement, though probably some anger:

No. Colbert is a really good writer himself and he writes awesome emails. He should tell his own story. He is an interesting, decent person. That story about his girlfriend leaving him in the book and in episode 2, Colbert was on a deployment and read the script. David Simon was really awesome and tried to involve every marine that he could. The only problem was the budget. So, when Colbert gets back he comes to Camp Pendleton while we were doing the sound editing. While editing, we invited him to Warner Bros. He comes on his motorcycle, walks in the editing room at the exact time Alex delivers the speech about his girlfriend and best friend. Colbert isn't a violent guy but I thought to myself, this is where he beats the **** out of me. He turned bright red and said, "I'm still friends with these people and now it's going on TV" and then he started laughing.

But still, it was already out there, shouldn't have been embarrassed by that time. But it's kind of endearing that he still was.

The 50 Shades of Grey movie casting news just keeps on coming.

The latest titillating tease comes from True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard, one of the many actors who Fifty fans are already imagining as Christian Grey. There were earlier reports that the role of Christian just isn't creepy enough for him and that he would be more interested in starring in a Lolita remake, but now Alexander seems to be coming back around to the idea of spanking a brunette beauty in Christian's Red Room of Pain.

The actor told ET Canada that he would consider playing Christian if the movie has a "great script," and he also said, "It depends on who's directing it and who's in it." So it sounds like Alexander Skarsgard would want to choose his Elena and Anastasia Steele if he gets cast in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Perhaps he'd pick Game of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke to play Ana—the two TV stars seem to share an affinity for stripping down on the small screen.

But surely Alexander wouldn't be too picky when it comes to the 50 Shades script and who gets in the movie—he did agree to star in Battleship alongside first-time actress Rihanna, after all.

ET Canada also asked one of Alexander's potential competitors Ryan Gosling about the movie, but all that he would say is that he hasn't read 50 Shades yet.

So those who would like to see a big movie star cast as Christian might be in luck—Ryan and Alexander didn't scoff at the idea of starring in the movie, and they didn't say no to the role. But it still seems like TV actors like Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder might have a better chance at scoring the part since they would probably be okay with getting paid a little less than Alexander and Ryan.

Alexander has no problem with sex scenes, and it's easy to imagine him playing a dark and disturbed character like Christian. However, some fans have complained that he just doesn't look right for the role—maybe he comes off as just a bit too creepy to play a sex god (he's definitely not conventionally sexy).

You can check out Alexander talking about the role below.(no you can't, I didn't add it) Judging from what the lovely Julianne Moore says about 50 Shades, it's unlikely that she'll be play Alexander's Elena in the movie.

Alexander Skarsgard's Response to '50 Shades of Grey' Rumors Leaves Fans Screaming

Ha! I had a feeling his name was still on the table as far as being cast in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie -- and now there's proof that True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard hasn't ruled out playing Christian Grey.

Ok, so you shouldn't start hyperventilating quite yet, because if the opportunity does arise for him to step into Christian's super-expensive shoes, he does have a few conditions before he'll agree to play the part. (Um, yeah right. Like ANY actor in Hollywood won't be doing cartwheels and popping open a bottle of champagne when that offer rolls around.)

At a recent red carpet appearance, women were literally screaming at him and saying he HAD to play Christian. And when asked about that possibility by ET Canada, Alexander responded with, "Of course. It's a great script." But then it's almost like he knew he'd sounded a bit too eager, because he backpedaled by saying there are "so many variables" when it comes to taking the role and added, "It depends on who’s directing it and who’s in it."

Really? It depends on the director and the other actors? Well, that's just borderline cocky, isn't it? (Ok, you're right. Alexander Skarsgard can be cocky if he wants to.)

He wasn't exactly forthcoming with his answer, but at least we know he's considering taking on the part. And since he's also expressed interest in the role of the creepy stepdad in Lolita, we know he's not shy about playing a sex-obsessed character. (Go ahead -- it's ok to blush -- I did too.)

You can see and hear Alexander's thoughts on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie in this video clip. (I didn't add it in, we've all seen it) As an added bonus, Ryan Gosling also gives an annoyingly un-telling answer about the role -- and one very famous actress admits to thinking the book is "awful." (Finally, someone isn't afraid to go against the grain.)

The comments on that post are pretty interesting. Alex isn't good looking enough, he's too old for the part, etc etc ...the front runner on this site is Matt Bomer. And my reaction? Let him have it. The sooner this film gets made (hopefully without Alex as Christian) the better off we'll be.

BTW: haven't forgotten about adding AVikander to the collage. Just a bit time-poor at the moment.

I suspect almost any actor-Alex, RyanG, etc., is hoping this as well, so they'll no longer have to field stupid questions about it.

Can you blame them?

On a personal note...here's one for a laugh. An acquaintance isn't speaking to me because I dissed 50 Shades. For real. We talked about it before she bought the series. I said "are you kidding?". She bought it, texted me. I made a joke ie "its an insult to literature and decent porn but whatever gets you off"...haven't heard from her since. Seriously.

And I don't care. Because she's also a Twi-hard convinced that the affair and photos were fabricated. *facepalm*

Oh boy. :huh::wtf::confused1:

I don't have a problem with people enjoying trashy novels (eyes Judith Krantz books on shelf). It's that there is a vocal segment of 50 Shades fans who treat this series as if it's a great trashy novel. It's not. It's a trashy novel.
Every November my city has a very, very very big used book sale, and along with looking for books I like to see what 'hot' books end up being dumped at this sale. I suspect that by next year I'll being seeing a lot of 50 Shades, as people come off their 50 Shades 'high'.
I know that there are Alex fans who sincerely like the books and want him as Christian. But I think that even if there ends up being a good movie made from it he and any other known actor should stay away. If for some reason he gets a script for it I hope he burns it in a ritual.

Thank you for taking the time to post this, and the interesting Evan Wright and cast interviews. I guess you have also looked up the official US reports and I was surprized how much of it is available. There's probably a lot that isn't but there was definitely more than I thought. One of the advantages of living in a democracy (tpf mods - end of political thoughts, promise :smile1:)

Those articles were just mind boggling - one even left the word 'if' out of the quote, ie 'if it's a good script' became 'it's a good script' :nono: I just wish there were more reactions like Julienne's, I know it's harder for the guys but even Fassbender gave a very sarcastic response recently - (which of course I can't find now but it made me laugh). This 50  Sh** has to stop  Please

Alicia V - I'm obv in a minority of one as I feel they really are just good friends and it would feel, to me, almost wrong. Oh you watch now  Hey I never claimed to be Mystic Meg :wondering:supacool:

Thanks, Free, Buckeye, Zola & Vamp!:smile1:

OT: The trailer for Lincoln was recently released. Pretty Oscar bait-ish but I still want to see it. Love Daniel Day-Lewis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sally Field.

^^ that looks good. I really want to see this.

So filming wraps up today, i guess he is just going back home?? No other films lined up??

Nothing lined up that we know about. So probably home to Stockholm to see the newest brother. Though I'm presuming he'll check on the house in LA is well. So perhaps another Skarsdrought coming up.

I love the photos from the Hot Chip-concert. Looks as though someone had a good time there... :D

The library I used to work for, has monthly charity book sales. When we looked through the book donations for the August sale, we found out that we had 19 copies of "50 Shades" for sale. Normally, there would be up to 6 copies of a book, if it was a very popular one.
