Asprey..that petition got 35 signatures (you can see it by clicking on the link). I'm not an OB shipper, in fact there's not been many of his films that I like him in, but I'm pretty sure Orlando Bloom has a damn site more fans and fanmail than that. I'm also pretty certain that the petition got filed under the title "Barrel O'Crazies". Robin Baum is tough as nails and has a reputation as being ferocious. She probably laughed her azz off.

I'm all for looking at Alex and Kate realistically rather than through rose-coloured glasses but the relevance of that petition escapes me. Kate's reputation isn't the best, granted, but she is the one both men chose.

Significant others get papped and mentioned in stories all the time about a star. A petition of 35 signatures would never change that.

I met Orlando in high school when kb was filming in Sydney for superman he was a really sweet guy. I was in my school uniform and trying not to jump him. I was like 16 or17 i was on such a high meeting him lol. And yes I hated he was going out with kb then too.

I can read...the point is that you can just substitute AS' name and his projects and the song remains the same. It's nothing new. People are saying the same thing about Alex. The only thing is she's learned to put on her nice face to the fans because she NEEDS them now because she no longer has Superman Return prospects. The fact that she couldn't get people to come out for some free food and booze for her Nylon cover party tells me all I need to know.

Btw, how great is Bloom's career these days? No matter , he's living on JJ as well. Fans get tired of BS and move on; they're always new flavors of the month. At this point, for some people Skars watching is like watching a bad movie that they've invested too much time not to see the end. The cheap theatrics really diminish him IMO. Joel Kinnaman's series The Killing will be renewed for another season and in the interim these are his current projects :

So much for the excuse that Skars' tv schedule prohibits him from lots of work
opportunities. I haven't counted him out yet but he needs to take a few pages out of the Franco-Kinnaman-Day Lewis aka serious actor handbook and concentrate on the craft not on the celebrity. They all have lives and they all have women that are not paraded about ad nauseum. The constant needless mention of her only bring to light the publicity aspect of the whatever. For a lot of people it makes it so much harder to enjoy Eric Northman when the actor comes across as a tool IRL. I'm envisioning Eric with a pooper scooper as I write this. Very distracting.:yucky:

As I understand there's now a decidedly "Beige-free" forum for people who have a particularly high level of, err, emotion about a fairly bland but otherwise inoffensive actress to vent their hatred, would it be too much to ask that it's avoided here? I know no one's supposed to tell anyone else what to post, yadda, yadda, but as someone with no strong feelings about Kate Bosworth whatsoever but who feels uncomfortable reading nutters who seem to spend more time wishing her harm than lusting over the man himself, it would be quite nice to have somewhere to read news and drool over pictures without feeling the need to come over all feminist police on a regular basis...

As this is an AS thread I'll keep this short, but I think its not the "curse of Kate" that has affected Orlando's career, but rather some bad choices after the success of LOTR and POTC.

Alex's career isn't dead or near being over at any rate. I've lost the whatever factor for him, but I still think he's a good actor and despite what I said about the marketing for Straw Dogs, he still has some big projects coming up. His role in What Maisie Knew should be fairly significant if they follow the book and Battleship (while not being my own personal kind of movie) might yet go gangbusters with its audience. And of course there's True Blood.

His audience isn't only those that are "in" the fandom. There's a ton of people out there who think he's great on True Blood, know nothing of his private life and will now be seeing him in quite a few magazines.

For me at least...looking at him under such a high-powered microscope hasn't done me any good. Any actor I looked at that way would come off looking bad...

Which nutters are wishing her harm? No one care enough about her for that.They just would rather than she her smirking everywhere. I'm only referring to the PR spectacle of going to known pap traps and having numerous , pointless posts on JJ and other bottom feeding sites that do not concern work or professional events.

Mel Gibson is very talented and has proven himself time again. Of course his personal life won't affect his career.

Yes, AS has fans that don't know about his personal life but those aren't the people that google him, participate in forums, fansites/polls, buy merchandise and magazines which give the industry an indicator of his marketability.

Btw, despite the first two magazines, he fell 53 slots on Imdb last week and 2 more this week. Robin Baum needs to rethink her strategy.

Mel Gibson spewed racist, homophobic, misogynistic diatribes while Alex? If his worst crime is that he plays the PR game a bit much for my liking and I'm not overly fond of his GF, then...I'll take Alex thanks very much. End rant...at least for me.

Back on topic...the Vogue pics were great...I have to say Lara Stone looked phenomenal in those photos, absolutely gorgeous, and her and Alex evoked the period really well. Peter Lindbergh brought out the best in everyone in that shoot.

I don't really see what the problem or issue is. This thread has been dying a slow death for the past 2-3 weeks-- I think today is the most anyone has posted in a good while. I have not read any post from any "nutters" "wishing her harm" here. If he's with her, people are going to talk about her.

I say hit ignore and enjoy the pretty :graucho:
