Well actually Neema, Squirrel and I were discussing which remakes we'd actually like to see Alex in, you know if they have to make one (some films were absolutely outlawed as untouchable..lol). I put up "The Big Chill" with AS in the William Hurt role, amongst an ensemble cast of other actors "on the verge".

That said...I really enjoyed the original and if they screwed it up well....hell hath no fury and all.... but he seems to do quite well in ensemble casts.

Oooo Mel Gibson. He was my first Hollywood crush! He never should have divorced Robyn, she kept a lid on the crazy.

Didn't she just? That woman was a saint! Only the God not of the Jews(?????):confused1::wtf::noggin: knew what she had to deal with.

I loved Mel from Mad Max to Payback and just can't watch him now. It's like I grew up watching Woody Allen but can't even watch a movie he directed.

I guess it's subjective to some what level of people's personal life shouldn't color how you view their professional life. To me that's like saying you're slightly pregnant. Yes or no, you can't have it both ways. Either something is or isn't.

Oh Come on Asprey...using Mel Gibson to demonstrate a point about Alex is stretching it, don't you think?

Mel Gibson spewed racist, homophobic, misogynistic diatribes while Alex? If his worst crime is that he plays the PR game a bit much for my liking and I'm not overly fond of his GF, then...I'll take Alex thanks very much. End rant...at least for me.

Back on topic...the Vogue pics were great...I have to say Lara Stone looked phenomenal in those photos, absolutely gorgeous, and her and Alex evoked the period really well. Peter Lindbergh brought out the best in everyone in that shoot.

Really well put - I completely agree!

On a related note, there was a great article I read a while ago - possibly by JJ Abrams if memory serves - describing how "the people of the internet" rather over estimates their power. There was an example used of some petition of fans demanding some series or other be un-cancelled, and it had been signed by maybe 200,000 people. They were quite sure that those fearsome numbers would make the network sit up and take notice. Umm, no. Do you know how quickly a series would be cancelled with 200,000 viewers? Even if we were to double or treble that to take into account the people who would watch if it were on but wouldn't go to the trouble of signing a petition... still death numbers for any series.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the same goes for the power of the "fandom". No one is forcing anyone to like KB or not, but no one with the power to cast him gives a monkey's what you think of his girlfriend. Sorry!

ETA: Same goes for IMDB ratings incidentally - they're of mild interest at the absolute most.

I cannot look at Mel Gibson without thinking about the 'Passion' episode of South Park and him shouting 'KABBLAAHH!.....just about sums up how many bats are all up in that belfry!

I totally lost any admiration for Tom Cruise after the Oprah sofa incident....think he is fab as alter ego Len Grossman though!

As for skars, I just love looking at him, I can look past kb and I don't think they are going about their careers that much different from other HW actors, they are basically 'brands' so they need to market themselves. It's not just about the 'Art' there is a huge amount of ego involved too no matter how coy they pretend to be!

I know it's not a real oldie but I would love to see him in a remake of Officer and a Gentleman...why? The uniform with lots of gratuitous sex scenes :graucho:

wait she got angry at alex for not walking next to her??

From what I read, it seemed that she got angry because he hid...I mean had walked away and made himself scarce around her. I'm like, "GEESH Askar! Instead of going through all of that, just grow a pair and tell KB to step off"!!

it looks like the orginal one

kb didnt make it in the poster??

Ha ha. Not winning

Looks like Fares in the first picture

I think it is :smile1:

Keith is there too.

YEYYYYYY Keith!! :yahoo:I'm STILL hoping that Keith and Askars start dating again ;).

"Everyone has a breaking point."

So Lurie is trying to market SD like it's a 1970's Charles Bronson Death Wish movie. Goody.

I think I'll watch that instead. Even if Skars were naked the entire movie, you couldn't pay me to see Bosworth's supersized collagened lips butcher a Southern accent as she zombies for 2 hours or even 5 minutes.

Can the church say AMEN!! I have NO intention of seeing this debacle!!

Squirrel, what did I say the other day? They're matching their outfits! Happy Swedish gay couple (that's wishful thinking here)!
And again Fares looks like, "Really dude? Why are there paps again?"

I know, Fares totally looks like, "Askars, the Paps again, SERIOUSLY?!! WTF?!!

Oooo Mel Gibson. He was my first Hollywood crush! He never should have divorced Robyn, she kept a lid on the crazy.

Hell yeah she did!! I had been a fan of Mel Gibson's since Mad Max.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like my Celebrity discussion with less rose-colored glasses and more reality. That being said...I may lust like a mad-dog after Askars but, if I feel that Askars is Pap-Whoring like his girlfriend/beard KB, I'll say that. If I feel that Askars is a spineless wuss that needs to grow a pair, I'll say that too. Remember, opinions are like a******* and everyone has one, so everyone has the right to express their opinion whether it's a popular, conforming one or not. I don't mind different opinions because it's what makes the world go 'round. I come on these Forums knowing that not everyone is gonna' agree with my opinion of Askars and frankly, it ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

My pearl of wisdom isn't directed at anyone in particular. Just felt I wanted to say this, so I did. *You just never know what may come out Mik's mouth ;)

I'll put away my soap box... for now ;).
